Pretty sweet deal. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_6209952_3?ie=UTF8&docId=1000186951&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-3&pf_rd_r=0EK67XT9FMJ9ZPJ59TAB&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=358119701&pf_rd_i=130)
Just picked up Lost, Kingdom of Heaven, Identity, and Apocolypto. Probably going back for more.
Go, go, go!

Wasn't amazon already selling Blurays and HD-DVDs at 30% off? This isn't much of a sale. BOGOs are much better.
-
Yeah, the BOGO sales are a lot better, but Anchor Bay titles are never part of those.
I actually think this is the first sign that these prices are going to become the Amazon norm on the older catalog releases. They aren't moving otherwise, and Amazon has been known to run these "special" sales before just to have the "sale price" become the normal sell-through price afterwards.
-
why the fuck do people pay that much money for a movie?
Holy fuck, I'm not buying HD movies until the prices are reasonable.
-
I agree. HD movie prices are fucking insane, which is why I'll only bite if they're on sale otherwise I'm perfectly fine with my DVDs. I'm sure most people are in the same boat. Anyone expecting a fast transition to HD formats (lol GAF) is in for a big surprise, imo.

I only paid full price ($20 each) for about 5 of the HD movies I own, and that was because I had just purchased the player and wanted something to watch. BOGO sales are awesome, you can't even get the regular DVD versions of some of those titles for the $9.97 I paid. Trade-ins, also awesome. I'm never paying $30-35 for fucking movie though, so if that's going to become the standard then I'll wait for the sales.

If it's going to become the standard, I'll just not buy any fucking movies. Fuck those greedy fucks.

Fox are the biggest bunch of greedheads. Almost all of their movies come out at $30 or more. Some companies are more reasonable. Warner releases their older catalog titles at $25 retail, which means you can find it for $20 or less if you shop around, and they always participate in those BOGO sales. And there's always ebay - you can get a lot of HD stuff there for $15 or less.
What I've been doing is selling off or trading in my DVDs - stuff that I either don't want, or know I am going to buy the HD version of. So far I have wiped almost half my collection clean, and have used the trades/sale money towards Blu Rays and HD DVDs. I have over 70 HD movies already, and paid very little actual cash (money outside sales or trade) for any of them. I'm running out of stuff I want to get rid of, though, so I'm definitely going to be conservative with future purchases from then on.

For those of you who still have your HD-DVD players, theres some HD-DVDs on amazon for $15. Coming to America is one of them.
-
HOLY SHIT.
-
get Replacement Killers, its cheap and omg looks good
-
I don't know if anyone has even gotten the 5 free Blu-Ray movies.

i paid full price for 2001 space odyssey today. $25 out the door. :-\
so fucking worth it though. :o :o :o
