Title: Should I buy Ratchet and Clank Future?
Post by: CurseoftheGods on January 13, 2008, 12:36:03 AM
I never played a R&C game, but I mildly enjoyed the demo and I am willing to give this game a shot. I am itching to play a new platformer.

To those that have finished it, what are your thoughts on it? Demi? :meeble

Yes.

But it's not really a platformer.

I understand that it relies a lot on shooting, but it's still a platformer at heart isn't it?

Anyway, I'll pick the game up tomorrow. My new DS3 is about to get some love.  :-[

It has jumpy tasks and collecting doodads... but there's no really intense platforming. The only game in the series (I have them all) that comes close to that is Ratchet 1, but even the platforming in that one is pretty tame.

Maybe you'll have a different opinion, I don't know. It's a great game though, second best in the series (or third best, haven't played 3 in a while), it'll be a special treat if you haven't played any of those because it's so similar, shorter, and axes features. I was still very satisfied.

What did you pay for the DS3?

Yes, but only if you had never played one before - unfortunately, Future is also one of the weakest entries in the series

Which ones are better for you? Only 2 stands above it for sure IMO

Dunno, but Future was extremely weak... maybe because it does absolutely nothing new

I think it's right up there with 1 and 3 objectively (minus online), and leagues ahead of Deadlocked.

I don't mind the repetition so much, we haven't had a real entry since 2004 and I never replayed any of the games after my NG+ runs right after each release. Skipped Size Matters too.
