Everything he can do, this man can do better:

Better base stats, better skills (think machinist plus thief with improved stealing abilities called "plunder"), and just basically all-around AWESOME.
:bow Balthier :bow

Like all FF characters, he's awesome til you actually get him in your party.
-
He's in my party right now, babe. He rocks.
Dunno how he is in FFXII, but fuck it, he's great in FFT.
-
Oh, I was referring to Mustard boy.
I'm not that far yet :'(
-
Yeah, the Mustard kid is cool and then as soon as he joins you he turns lame. Ah, well. No need to use him at all (but keep him in your party so the subquests open up in chapter IV) once you get Balthier.
-
what lvl are you and what are you character's jobs? :)
-
Ramza is level 53 and is currently a samurai! So far, my crew is composed of Mustard kid, Agrias, T.G. Cid :bow, Balthier :bow, Beowulf, Holy Dragon Reis, Rapha :yuck, Marach :yuck, Construct 8 :bow, Luso, and about a half-dozen randomly generated characters (a samurai with dual wield, a dragoon, a monk, two knights, and a white mage).

:bow
My Ramza is lvl 15 :(

When you get to the solo battle with Wiegraf, just use tailwind and shout and keep moving around (you'll eventually have like four or five turns for every single turn of Wiegraf's), and you can go up like ten levels in that fight alone.
-
:lol
awesome
Right before Dorter city, I went into a fight and kept healing the enemy and made everyone focus and chant. I went up 2 levels in one fight. it took me forever to beat Dorter
-
I'm getting Cloud next, though I'm never going to actually use him (who was the moron who decided that all his abilities need to charge like spells and that he can't use any of them unless you equip the materia blade on him AND that he starts at level 1?!). Just for completion's sake.
There was a fight near a reservoir where you had to hit some switches and the battle wouldn't end until you did that...so in the PSX version I just killed all the enemies and had my characters cast focus, chant, tailwind, etc., and then start beating each other up to go up in levels...
...well, in the PSP version they changed it so as soon as you killed all the enemies the battle ended even if you didn't step on the switches. Laaaaaaame.
-
:lol :lol
I never got him on the PSX version and it sounds like I didn't miss anything
-
He starts at level 1...I think I used him for a grand total of two battles before I decided I wasn't gonna level him up. I mean, geez, you get T.G. Cid at that point, who is a gamebreaking character (and now in the PSP port you get Balthier who is almost as good), so why bother with a wimpy level 1 loser? Still, it's fun to see how they fit him into the FFT world, so it's worth it if only for the subquest story thingy.

I just used yell and accumulate on normal enemies at mandalia plains to level my ramza up to like level 50 before i even got chapter3 first time i played fft
-
Wow, awesome. You gonna do that again this time around?
-
maybe. grinding in fft is addicting.
-
I have never seen a more suicidal character in any game than Musta(r)dio. Makes the "save him" missions a real pain, too.
-
i had to use packs of potions to get cloud up, and even then he wasnt completely awesome, but he was good for the dark dungeon place.
the man with the plan at the end ended up being beowulf. being able to steal 999 life and deal 999 damage from a far distance every time you attack is always nice.
the vigilante 8 or whatever his name was had some game too, but i think i ended up dumping him at 99.
-
I actually opened up the Dark Knight Class for Ramza. Surprisingly enough, thats when I stopped playing.
The only good thing about that damned class is that it gives Females the +3 to Movement ability
-
Dark Knight sounds almost impossible to get. Mastering black mage is a pain, plus like four other classes.
