Post by: abrader on January 15, 2008, 09:37:47 PM
So if Apple Timecapsule is just a airport base-station with a built in HDD - apple is gonna release an update that lets me use a USB HDD with my existing base-station and wirelessly use it as the Time machine drive for all of my devices right?

If not things have gotten insane over there!

So apparently you CAN NOT do this with a standard Airport Base-station and an external USB HDD connected to it and configured as an AirDisk.

There is a third party app that does it, but thats no good for a true automated backup utility.

Apple BETTER add an update to TimeMAchine soon that supports networked drives.

Can you give me a good site that lists everything revealed at MacWorld?  I can't keep up!
