Schappert will be presenting the session, “A Future Wide Open: Unleashing the Creative Community” during GDC on February 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PST
in the Esplanade Room of the Moscone Center's South Hall.
A statement from event organizers CMP Group said that the session will “set the strategy for Xbox 360 this upcoming year, revealing top developers' plans for the platform in 2008.”
"The Game Developers Conference is the premiere stage for industry leaders to present their strategies for advancing the state of the art of games," said Jamil Moledina, executive director of GDC in a statement. "Given John's experience and the Microsoft game development team behind him, we are confident that our attendees will not want to miss this glimpse into the future of how games will be made."
All it really takes is a 5 minute video reel.

combination of some stuff
the theft of a couple of rival developers
and a few exclusivity announcements
and i can tell you now... even the largest towel you can imagine won't be enough for the fanboy tears.
this will not be helped by sony's big "announcement" ... the LOL will circle the earth.

It’s been six months since Microsoft Game Studios officially opened in Europe – what’s progress been like?
We’ve built a team here now. Key for us is finding great European talent to help us both understand the development community here better, and more importantly understand the gamers in the European community. Our portfolio now, and the games coming over the 12 months, is very well targeted towards different groups – but I think we can do better at that. So helping us have a base of publishing here, filled with people who are from here will help us achieve that. And clearly for us the basis of our success is building good relationships with creative talent – that’s our number one focus overall.

They lost LBP because of the lack of a base in Europe.
Yes, the lynchpin of Microsoft's '08 strategy is a sequel to a racing game from Sega. Most of the hour is devoted to it.I would seriously do anything for it... :-*
I'm kind of confused because this meme is everywhere now, but, like, we do know their lineup, right? I mean, all the big games-- NG2, Alan Wake, Banjo, Fable, Infinite Undiscovery, Too Bomba, with likely appearances by Gears 2 and maybe PD2...we do know.
Throw in a few surprises, and that's the first party lineup for the year....and that's a damn good first party lineup. I think the meme itself is framing the conversation and I just don't get it.

What the fuck is meme?

no. I don't think we do.
we also don't know a few finer details regarding further exclusive 3rd party support and some time exclusivity deals.
There are rumors about MS acquiring Yahoo and Logitech.
may this will be it and some already known games.
Quotelol @ dcharlie acting like he's got some insider info. first you say ms has some big news and sony's news is lol. now its sony that will have the big news, and ms wont say much. seriously dcharlie make your mind up
MS does have big news, whether they use it on an event like GDC? I doubt they will - they'll announce what they need to announce on their own - why have the message diluted?
There you go!

I really don't understand how the meme was able to frame the conversation, but it can only be the Sony-loving GAF of 2004 or so finally getting a foothold to swing the site back away from 360. All it took was a hint of viability from PS3.
since i cant make threads anymore...GOW psp team?
it seems that ready at dawn is making a 360 game
