January 16, 2008 - We'd have settled for just one Bionic Commando game this year, but it turns out that Capcom has more on the way! The latest issue of Famitsu has a first look at Bionic Commando: Master D Revival Plan, a 3D remake of the original Bionic Commando (known in Japan as Hitler's Revival).
Aside from the 3D visuals, the game promises to maintain the flavor of the original title, which presumably means pure side-scrolling gameplay. Capcom is adding a simultaneous two player mode, secret areas, and some elements that will connect the classic title to the new full 3D Bionic Commando.
The Bionic Commando remake will be released as a paid download through Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store. Pricing hasn't been set, but a Japanese release is planned for this Spring.
sorry to post my over mouthy opinion on this, but as an owner of the arcade board....
... it really is garbage isn't it?
The C64 (euro capcom, not the US version) and NES versions outclass the arcade version several times over.
This + Lode Runner = :)
Bionic Commando Arcade :-X

Fak you, awesome action sidescroller. NES version was far too clinical and fuck distinguished mentally-challenged.
Listen man, I got all the achievements on Arcade Contra... it's crap
The awkward flip animation is just the start, if that's better GFX then I think we should stop there
eh?
LOL I just noticed you typed "STrider 2" above....
Yeah I cant wait to see one of these gomibots defend that shit-stack.
Hardcorps?
WTF?
I respect Demi's opinion more than most - dont troll this debate.
Bow down to your Gamerscore master.
Forgotten Worlds is a Capcom arcade game. nubs.
Clearly. Problem is Forgotten Worlds Genesis is one of the easiest games ever made if you play with two people. Like Strider 2 easy.

Did the arcade version have the weapon shops? I forget.
This is one title I mostly ignored at the arcade but played alot on the Genesis.
Ahhh here is a good one....
Coin-op Section Z gets its ass kicked all oveer the known universe by the NES edition.
The NES version even looks better!

Hopefully they update his ten yard fight animations.

They did a good job on MAverick Hunter X - I have faith.
fucking so awesome i just shot one off!
So is this a remake of the NES version or of the arcade version? The official pr says the original arcade version, but the screenshots look like a re-imagined NES version. Looks awesome regardless. Here's hoping we get a Mega Man Powered Up 2 and 3 via XBLA, too.

The video and screenshot above says it's a direct remake of the NES version all the way. Not only that there's new bosses, weapons, hidden areas and co-op (no online though since it was just added). Now they need to add a level editor and this will be GOTY for me.
HOLY CRAP. DAY ONE.
and Simon Viklund, creative director at GRIN, the team responsible for Bionic Commando Rearmed, to get the low-down on the king of the swinger's return.
