I really had high hopes that they would get the sequel running on the Graw engine instead of UE 2.5 again.
It looks to be the same shit. I'm shocked it is still in vegas too. I really had high hopes for the game, I love Vegas 1 to death despite it's techincal limits. God multiplayer looks like shit...... And probably still will with the sequel.
I am pretty certain it is a turkey, especially since they showed that shitty live action footage instead of game footage at that award show..... :'(

Yeah, they are still using a modified UE2.5
makes me wonder if SC5 is still using it too, last i heard they scrapped the whole project.
-
ya know I hadnt thought much about it till this thread. I love the original and just assumed this would be good.
-
SC4 used Ubis version of UE2, which kicks much ass. I kind of thought they would use assasin's creed engine for SC5, but if it's scrapped who knows what is up.
I wanted rainbow on the graw engine so bad. That engine is also the ubi branded UE2 engine. It is barely anything left in it that is original unreal, but it is the one they used from splinter cell 1.
They really got hosed with UE3 for vegas, they had to take what they could from Epic (UE2.5) and make the game work.
SO yea, I was hoping they ported the engine, but i guess it would be too much work.

Tom Clancy games *YAWNS*
I jest. But Ubi really needs to slow down with these games. Do they want to become the Tony Hawk of the shooter genre?

Looks to be. They have stock holders to appease, but I wish they took their time to do it right....

Looks like an expansion pack, and I'm not joking.
-
was there some kind of announcement today? cause i missed it if so.
-
Game Informer had screens of it. It looks outdated, but Rainbow Six Vegas multiplayer is only rivaled by Call of Duty 4 on the 360.

So what is GRAW 2 using? That game was fucking gorgeous

Yeti Engine (modified UE2.5)
R6V is modified UE3 but some claims it's a modified UE2.5.

Vegas start work on the broken UE3, which was really just Epic sending out their modified UE2 engine with some added perks, ala UE 2.5.
Fuck Epic for real. I really hope the hammer drops.

GRAW 2 is pretty jaw dropping in parts

Well, that doesn't explain the shitty looking R6V2 :-\

Have we seen any UE'3' games that are real lookers besides Gears?
-
Mass Effect? Lost Odyssey? (both with serious technicals issues but still good looking)
i don't want to say Bioshock because that seems to be another UE2.5~UE3 fuck up.
-
I don't think it's a multiplatform problem, nor it's UE3 related.
it's either:
1- R6V team can't deliver better graphics
2- lazy developers
why? because both GRAW and SC teams DELIVERD
take a look at the leap between GRAW1 to 2 and SC:DA to Conviction.
here, see Conviction (modified UE2.5):

R6 Vegas 2: First dev diary
It's single player footage, which was fine enough in the the first vegas.
The real sticking point for me will be the multiplayer, the first vegas's multiplayer was awful looking but fantastic.

To the disappointed: Go back and play the Vegas demo again. It won't be as good as you remember, it's framerate makes it practically unplayable.
I downloaded the demo again yesterday to compare it to COD4. What a difference a year makes.
-
I play Vegas pretty regularly, I think I've even put more hours into it that Oblivion.
The best online coop experience around imo.
I really wish Halo 3 would put in match making and optional skulls that you can pick without hunting them down.
-
Drewsy, the final game ran better than the demo. looked a little better too. also, it had split-screen co-op for the campaign. Still not as good looking as COD4 though.
