So someone here mentioned Firefox 3 has a beta, which i downloaded and rocks. Lots of new features :bow

Now bow to your mozilla overlords for the next few years while IE struggles to play catch up

Also I installed my new 100gb HDD into the laptop here which fixed it up quick, installed my copy of XPMCE and all is good

hmm I'm still dickin around but the bookmarks section seems totally revamped, they added a smart bookmarks feature which shows your most visited sites and it runs fast with a shitload of tabs open, no memory leak. Also it searches while you type into fields and checks your spelling as you type. Some other stuff I'm forgetting.

The new skin is nice, and I like the address bar history search or whatever.  The password stuff is great, and there are a bunch of cool UI additions.

As usual, i'll wait for a while to upgrade. FF 2.2 just works well for me, there's little reason to upgrade. The only new feature i'm interested in is the lowered RAM consumption, but i've tweaked mine so it uses less, and i've got enough RAM to handle my needlessly massive sessions. i'd also wait until i know all my extensions have been upgraded to be compatible.

I was pretty shocked at that GAF thread about supposedly tab-heavy browsing sessions --- 50 tabs is a lot?  My friends and I regularly go into triple digits (across all windows) with really heavy sessions reaching 300+.  I rarely had memory problems even on 256MB, incidentally.
