But which platform offers the consummate version of Paradise? While the PlayStation 3 edition sports a slight visual edge (a few superior textures, no screen tearing) and arguably superior controller triggers, the Xbox 360 offering plays identically, and both sport that amazingly intuitive online interface. And since the PS3 version fails to deliver a custom soundtrack option (blame Sony), the Xbox 360's ability to rescue you from a cavalcade of crappy Burnout 2 track remixes and Avril Lavigne nonsense can't be underestimated.
Arguably superior triggers? :lol

:rofl
gimme some of that CRACK 1UP!

Jesus Christ. The death of Burnout. I was hoping reviewers would RAIL on this game just so we don't have another fucking open ended burnout but they actually apparently like it.
rip burnout
-
I hated the demo, but I'm afraid I'll walk into a store on Tuesday and buy this.
I need help.
-
I don't have a 360 yet, and Turok and Dark Sector don't interest me.
I don't need a new game, but I loved the old Burnouts so much that part of me wants to give it a chance, even though I hated the demo.

EXACTLY. I kept trying the demo to see if I would eventually like it, too. :-\
-
I played the demo for ten minutes and then deleted it in disgust. I'm tempted to download it again and give it another chance.
-
i'm giving it a chance. not at full price though.

I've got a $10 off any PS3 game coupon at Best Buy and a $5 reward zone certificate that I'm tempted to use on it.
-
i've never been so disgusted in a demo in my life. And yes I mean actually DISGUSTED.
-
I thought that the demo was just a bad representation of the game. Supposedly you have events all over the city, and the backtracking nonsense that was in the demo wouldn't be too huge a factor. The actual mechanics seemed pretty solid IMO.
That being said, it's still a toy zooom zoom racer, I'll get it when it is used for $25.
-
If you didn't like the demo, it might be wise to wait for a couple more reviews. I wouldn't be surprised if Shane B, aka Sony fanboys' mangod, gave Burnout:P a 9 just because the PS3 was the lead platform.

But that doesn't change the fact that if you lose a race you have to backtrack to it. Races being all over the city doesn't change this at all.
Plus, they turned it into Tony Hawk with cars. It's not an arcade racer. Even if the sandbox elements were good, it still wouldn't be burnout.

Why can't 1up simply say "This reviewer prefers the PS3 controller over the 360 controller for this title, and the 360 version offers custom soundtrack support why the PS3 version does not, but otherwise Burnout Paradise is the exact same game on both platforms" ?
???
-
"Superior Textures" lol. I wonder how much from 1up we can believe until we see it. Kinda like how people thought Gundam Musou looked better on PS3 lawlz jaggies. BBOBOBO textures..."what textures"
oh fanboyzz
-
Gundam Musou is best on PS2 LOL "next gen"
-
*sob*
-
Musou Orochi PSP next month! :hyper
-
oxm also gave it a 9.
I'm part of the camp that deleted the demo after 5 minutes but now I'm having second thoughts. If it nearly unanimously keeps on getting scores like this, I'll consider giving it a try.

Maybe the full game is different but I've played both demos on the same television flipping back and forth between the 360 and PS3 (which was hooked up through HDMI) and I honestly couldn't tell ANY difference between the two and even if there is one it has to be so incredibly slight that you'd have to know exactly where to look to see it. It really is the same freakin' game.
I have no problem with a PS3 game looking better than a 360 one and I wouldn't give it a second thought in picking up the superior version but after playing both demos and seeing it with my own eyes, I really think this is a case of Shane being Shane.
Shitty game, though.
