on one hand, a movie hyped by shake, and the last movie he hyped was the departed and that was disappointing as hell. on the other hand, CLOVERFIELD has the best trailer ever.

there will be blood was ok
daniel day lewis's performance was good

Is this even a struggle? You either catch an insanely intense theater experience that you will most likely never have the urge to see again (so as to not diminish the experience) or you catch one of the best fucking performances of all time.
Oh wait, shit, that is sort of a struggle.
See There Will Be Blood.

I haven't seen There Will Be Blood, but I really can't recommend seeing Cloverfield in the theater enough.

Well, Cloverfield was really intense on the big screen in a crowded theater. I doubt it'll play as well at home. There Will Be Blood is more of a small screen type movie, it's a long, slow moving character drama. But Daniel Day-Lewis' performance was big-time Hollywood acting, and it was really powerful on the big screen. I dunno, man, do what your heart tells you.

Go see both.
