I wanted to watch the Devil's Backbone, but I can't find my copy of it :(
I really need to sort my DVD collection. That will be part of my goal this week.
What to watch what to watch--I am thinking maybe some television. Cracker, Rome or Touching Evil maybe.

Cracker
:bow :bow
Cracker is amazing.
You win! Cracker it is! I got series 1 for only 20 bucks, on sale. My local shop is clearing out inventory, so a lot of stuff is on sale. Good fringey and foreign shit that I eat up. Like Cracker, I think it was 40-50 bucks, which was a bit much, but at 20 it is a fucking steal. I also got the complete Touching Evil for 50 bucks. Series 3 I remember being kinda meh, but yay the cheapness!

Loins is better!

i am constantly impressed by how British comedians can switch to be serious actors.
Coltraine is firking awesome in Cracker.
Kathy Burk was awesome in Mr Rowe's Virgins and Nil by Mouth.
Hugh L. is godlike as House...
Anyways, i keep meaning to get Cracker - i think Mrs C would like it a lot.
And Spender...
And the Sharpe series...
Eddie Izzard is also really good in the US FX show The Riches. He plays against type, although his character is a career conman, so he has plenty of opportunity to make with the funny. I recommend that if you get an opportunity. I've only seen the first few episode, but what I saw was pretty interesting stuff.

Hey hey, Christopher Eccleston is in this, too! Oddly enough, Touching Evil has episodes written by Russell T. Davies. It is Doctor Who Archaeology Week at TVC's place!

I got this last week. Hope it's good although the video quality will probably be lacking compared to Ratatouille.

What's this about? I had some stationery from this show when I was a kid.

Smooth: If anything its because of the art style that you will find it 'lacking', but the transfer is crystal fuck clean.
As for the anime i think youre probably thinking of Galaxy Express 999 or something, this is a newer series from the same universe.

I don't have Cars, but I do have the short films BD, and the picture quality is PRISTINE, even in the old shit. They really must have been forward thinking to know how to make it so Tin Toy would hold up in the future. If Tin Toy looks like tits, and it does, so will Cars.
I'm usually not a whore for companies, but Pixar's got its head on more than straight.

I don't understand why Pixar still haven't released Toy Story or The Incredibles on Blu-ray. They'll sell 10 million copies and hasten the demise of Hd-dvd.
-
I want Nemo and Incredibles pretty bad, but also A Bugs Life, that movie doesnt get enough credit.

This is from the wikipedia description:
In the beginning of the story, the main character, Manabu Yūki, has always had dreams of joining the SDF, following in the footsteps of his father and brother, who died while serving in the SDF. Unfortunately, his mother is fed up with losing her family to the great space beyond and does what she can to deter him from following his dream. Despite this, Manabu is determined to join, and boards the train to Destiny Station (PS3? :lol), the story leads on from there.
Wow, an anime about SFAGS! Unbelievable!

Well, we know Toy Story 3 is in development, and the TS movies would probably benefit from being released when the install base is larger. We are still in the "enthusiast" age of HD. TS will come when the soccer moms are buying discs.

I was thinking that that's probably the reason why they're holding back. But is it really necessary? The Toy Story and The Incredibles movies will always be popular. New HD adopters aren't going to ignore those films even if their BD discs have already been on the shelves for awhile.

Yeah, but Toy Story could be record breaking big, and you know how much investors like big numbers. That and the whole Disney thing. You know how Disney is with shit in the "vault" or whatever. They know how to maximize profits and numbers by keeping a tight grip on availability.
