CrystalGemini bought me Flash Gordon: Saviour of the Universe Edition DVD for my birthday.  I have a dirty fetish for all things Flash Gordon (my Flash Gordon bobblehead is ALWAYS the first thing I unpack when I move), including the cheesy 80s Mike Hodges movie.  The movie had been out of print for awhile, so when I finally got a DVD player, I was forced to get an imported Brazilian copy.  The transfer on this new edition is awesome.  So fucking colorful and sharp.

I still want to bang Ming's daughter.

What do you think of the Sci-Fi Channel Flash Gordon series?

I saw Flash Gordon in the theater when I was a kid.  I remember the experience clearly - there was a couple down the row from me, and the girl was deaf.  Her boyfriend/husband was "signing" the dialogue of the movie to her (not all of it, just key parts I guess).  I was so fascinated watching that that I ended up missing a bunch of the movie, so I had to beg my folks to give me money to watch it again.
