My area rocks, I feel like a rich yuppie with all my multi-colored leaves, no pollution, and just omg omg.
-
I live in pretty much the definition of suburbia, I think. My town is whiter than Willco.
-
My area looks like those tv shows about washington where everything looks nice. Im actually amazed I get to live here sometimes.
-
i like where i live, i can walk to the subway/metro train. i can walk to three different hospitals (one is a children's)
it's not to busy, but it's not quiet. i have all my friends near, my neighbors are all my friends in my building.
-
Thats the life!
-
yeah, or at least if i have a life threatening problem i don't need to go far
-
I live in an area that suits me fairly well although most people probably wouldn't consider it nice (east TN). It has few programming jobs and the pay is bad but people are generally nice and relaxed, the weather is decent year round, there's little traffic, and it's cheap.
-
I live in a suburb of Houston. Since we're such a diverse city, there's practically every race ever in this town. We have Whites, Blacks, Mexicans, Asians...It's pretty cool because in school you mingle with people of all races.
My area isn't that bad, I'm grateful. In fact, it's a pretty great place to live. I missed Houston to death when I was in North Carolina for my first year of college.
-
I'm a couple minutes away from campus, so I'm surrounded by a lot of houses up for rent as well as frat houses. A frat full of EMU baseball players is a couple houses away from me. So basically I live around a bunch of college kids and some grown folks.
It's pretty quiet actually. I make sure my doors and shit are locked though, because college kids attract some negative things. Criminals might target areas full of college kids because they're less responsible than older adults. Daddy's paying your rent, why should you check to see if doors are locked? That mindset can get you in trouble

Its just, I lived in Arizona for a good number of years, and I could never fathom why people would wanna wake up every day and stare at endless sky and dirt, when you can come to Western WA and see so much LIFE
-
Arizona old people lolz
-
I live in a middle to middle upper class city right outside the Minneapolis metro area. It's not too bad, all the action is in the city though. There are a lot of spoiled rich punk teenagers around and they're all addicted to meth (it's really bad around here) but other than that it's not the worst place in the world to live. A lot of white people, but there's also a lot of Mexicans in this town.
-
Sounds pretty crappy, cloud!
-
Mexicans and Meth-Heads, oh my!
-
I live in the GHETTO

I would have to agree on living in Arizona. I spent a few Christmas holidays in Florida, and I never really want to do it again.
There is something special to me about experiencing the seasons of the weather here in Chicago. Of course I dont' actually live in Chicago, but I often use that as a simple way of telling people generally where I live. I'm in the far west suburbs, about an hour outside of the city.
I like having snow believe it or not. I don't like driving in it, or scraping it off my car or driveway, but it's just that time of year. I also like the Spring, and it's cool dry air. It's really pretty cool as you enter March/April and the weather starts warming up again. You appreciate it more, you enjoy the difference it makes. Then you have the full on summer months where it's 80's and 90's most of the time. Then we enter fall, and things get cold again, and the leaves change colors, and they eventually fall off completely.
I don't know why, but there is a certain romanticism with the seasons for me. There is something boring about the same old 75 degree day in the southern states of the U.S.
-
Fall is my favorite season, and Mill Creek Washington is probably the best town I have ever lived in. It is this fantastic mix of developed and undeveloped land. I fear however that its current popularity might change that dynamic. HOWEVER the Mill Creek city council has managed to keep Wal-Mart out, so they may fight to keep the place as it is.

True. Its the curse of LI. :(

you live in Ypsi then? Ypsi is far from nice. It gives me a very "dirty" vibe kind of like(but not nearly as much) Detroit. Well not that I know much about Detroit. I very rarely been there. It was kind of put in my head it is a scary place and my mom refuses to drive through thinking someone is going to shoot us. :lol Ypsi is very boring and "yuck" from what I seen. Ann Arbor is great unlike Ypsi, great down town and it feels much more "clean" and nicer than Ypsi. It's where I'll live soon.

Bay Area: Nice wooded area a few blocks away from the actual bay
Central Valley: Suberbia with a park in front of it, kind of mixed area
Mountains: Nothing up there yet

:lol
It just occured to me how much we sound like two old men here.
"Oh, how I enjoy the fall season. When I was a boy i'd often pick up sticks for the family fire place. Oh, my mother's pot pie could make you cry".
:lol
-
Fine with me lol.
-
too quiet. and the local music shops suck. I might take photos tomorrow :)
-
I live in Vancouver, B.C. I happen to think it is one of the most beautiful places in the world to live.
-
Yeah I think it's pretty great. Too many fucking yuppies in recent years though.
-
Not really. We have two acres of land, which is nice. But all our neighbors are assholes. They like to fucking fire off all their guns into the air/targets every couple hours, and of course our dogs bark at this noise. It makes me feel homicidal. Its been going on for about a month. It just snowed yesterday, and apparently it has stuck to the ground :( Which sucks ass.
But our house is nice enough. Its warm, full of electronic crap for me to fuck around with when I'm bored.
-
I live in cupertino which is basically the suburbs of san jose. The people are nice and I guess you could say it's "multi-racial" but there's no blacks (maybe 10 in my school that has about 1000 students). I go to Berkely and Oakland all the time though. It's 80 degrees right now. I couldn't live with snow everyday.
-
The area that I live in is technically a nice area. But my area is right next to a really bad area. The two areas are seperated by a highway, Westpark Tollway. I live on the very edge of the nice area, so I get some of the overlap of the bad area. Sucks. But most of the time, my neighborhood is nice and quiet.
-
I live on campus in a college town, it's pretty blahhhh. It's better than back home, almost no white people and few people speak English. It's very alienating. Thank you my Liberal betters.
-
I live in a very nice area, 3 of my neighbors are cops too so it keep the trouble makers away :D

-
Dude, your town is not that white. Do you remember your high school?
-
Children of different races were thrown into the mix to prepare us for the outside world, Willco.
The outside world
-
you think you live in white suburbia? My high school didn't have one black student. Not ONE.
-

Thats pretty damn white.

Cheebs is a racist.

So you're saying you went to a good school?

How big was your high school?
Out of 250 in my graduating class, I think there were two black kids. And one was gay, which nullifies the blackness.
-
The area I live in isn't ubernice yuppyville, but it's certainly middleclass, maybe a bit higher up of the middle. There are trees, parks, new schools and everything subarbia. There's always some random Humvee outside the grocery store.
The youth though still want to act like it's the ghetto, which is pathetic. Some of thse kids need to go to a real poor area and have a reality check. Why they want to b ring ghetto culture into a place that their parents worked hard to get to is something I just don't understand. Leave the crunk juice and Fast2Furious for the hood plz.

About the same as yours then. Graduating class was a little under 300 if I remember.

I love Western Wa, I wanna die here, I hope I get to die here, before the robots take over and make our brains immortal for devious reasons.
-
Most of the black and hispanic students I went to highschool with mysteriously disappeared after graduation. I don't know what happened to all of them ::)
Actually, the area I live in is pretty diverse and fairly...enjoyable, I suppose. There's this pretty cute middle eastern girl that lives down the street from me, despite the fact that she's only something like 16. Perhaps I should put this in the confessional thread.
-

:lol :lol This thread has quickly became a white supremacist thread. Making rhetorical statements about minorities not going to college(above), arguing who had the least black kids in their school and who lived in the whitest suburb. :lol :lol
PHOENIX DARK WHERE ARE YOU

2 blacks but 1 that was gay. That still leaves 1 black person. I win.
I just realized, I never had a friend who was black. I never even had a casual acquaintance who was black. :lol :S

I hope someone here has been to Morristown, TN. That place is backwards as fuck.
My sister was the only black person in our middle school there. When my mom tried to buy a house there, the guy wouldn't sell because he said he had been threatened that if we moved in, they would burn our house down. My brother and I were basically the only hispanics as well. Thank God that was Middle School. I can't imagine how people would have been in High School. We used to get picked on a lot and we were the outsiders in a town of 20,000 people. They once tried to jump as at the Mall and myself, my brother and my sister fought off about 15 people. Then Mall Security decided that we caused the problem, called my sister a ni**er and told us that we weren't allowed back in the mall. I had one friend there. Well, one real friend. Most of the people I met there were racists or too afraid of the racists to be associated with us. Probably the worst 2 years of my life living in that town... not counting the two years I was married. LOLZ.
