30 minutes of my fucking life wasted on this bullshit
20 different "keys" numbers and none of them work
disabled all firewalls, opened up my network
still can't connect even though the fucking things are less than 3 feet away from each other and WIRED CONNECTION
Goddamn I hate MS, every goddamned thing has to be going around your ass to get to your elbow, can't ever be easy
fuck you fuck you fuck you MS and 360 media center
I keep thinking about how easy it was to connect the PS3, didn't have to enter any numbers bullshit
I wish I'd bought burnout on PS3
-
windows media connect FTW
if you're on XP SP2 it's the best solution.
-
you bought burnout paradise? HA HA HA
-
It took me a while to get everything working too.
:lol Robo
-
Burnout Paradise is good, if you haven't played the full game then

It took FOREVER to get WMC on my 360 working. Holy fuck I was pissed. And then I woke up the next morning and give it a fresh go and it just fucking worked. I didn't even change anything. Fuck that shit. I just stream stuff via WMP11
-
just wondering...
are you using a laptop? and does it have finger prints key or something like that? if so, disable it.
-
No, just an old HP (which is the worst computer I have ever owned, btw, can't wait to get a new one)
thing is, I had it connected to my old 360 and it worked fine
now all of a sudden it doesn't want to connect to the new one
-
why are you using WMC anyway?
I use WMP11 and it works flawlessly. I also use the official wifi adapter for 360.
-
hmm...
can you go to system blade --> computer and clear something there?
i remember doing that once...
-
I'll try WMP11 then, I always thought you were supposed to go through the WMC interface
my PC is connected to my TV, so I really don't need WMC for anything through 360 other than streaming music anyway
-
what OS are you on? like i said above, if it's XP SP2, just run windows media connect. problem solved.
-
wmc is ass compared to the flawlessness that is wmp11
add a shared folder, add it to your wmp11 library
or
open it via wmp11, right click the item in the playlist and selected Add To->My Shared

it's dead.
-
well, it finally worked, guess it got tired of jerking me around
i'm still going to use wmp11

btw, port forward if you didn't already.
-
i'll do that, thanks

damn, that sux. it pretty much solved all my 360 connectivity problems.
-
I set it up without a problem but it was too slow. But recently my computer just started showing up on the 360 as a source of music so I just select it there and off I go. Much faster.
-
When do we expect the next price drop for the 360? I want one but don't neeeeed one. :-*
-
I've never gotten my 360 to do is with anything. Zune, WMP11, or anything.
so yeah, right there with ya.
-
I had the same problem - ask TVC 15. I couldn't figure out the problem. I think it takes a couple of fresh reboots with the network and the PC/360 to get it all working for some odd reason. Now that I've got my PC, 360 and Zune working in harmony, it's like sex.
I'll stream Dexter to my living room, hook up an unlistened to PTi podcast and listen to that while playing CoD4, charge my Zune, setup 360 playlists. It's great.
-
So far I've been using my new 360 for streaming movies and tv shows from torrents more than actually playing games. I don't even miss not having cable right now.
-
Don't even try to do anything with Media Center. Media Center doesn't even support divx/xvid. Just do all your sharing through WMP11.

weren't they planning to release some kind of addons/extenders to support divx in WMC?

That is why I just buy all multi-platform games for PS3, so I don't have to deal with MS crap. :D

Don't you have some game store to report to sony for making improper displays?
-
This is probably going to sound ridiculous, but as I never turn on my 360 any longer, I don't know the current state of affairs with things.
When the 360 first came out, you needed to have XP Media Center Edition 2006 in order to share movies, didn't you?
Has that been changed? Can I use XP Pro SP2 to share movies to my 360? With the new divx compatibility, it's left me wondering how things work now.
-
Yeah, as long as you enable media sharing with your 360 in WMP11, you can stream to hearts content your entire DivX library to the 360. That's what I do. Dexter Season 1 and 2 in living room = 8)

They got rid of Windows Media Connect last I checked. I went to set it up again after my 360 RRoDed but now you're forced to download fucking WMP11. I downloaded WMP11 and couldn't get it to connect to my 360 :/
-
i googled and found WMC:
http://files.filefront.com/Windows+Media+Connect+20+English/;5479102;/fileinfo.html copy pasta "download now" if it doesn't work.
also you can try using TVersity: http://www.tversity.com/home
no idea how to use it though.

I think it was finally reinstalling the Zune software that made my PC start appearing automatically on the 360, actually. I didn't even fuck around with it, maybe you disabled something in the Zune software?
That is why I just buy all multi-platform games for PS3, so I don't have to deal with MS crap. :D
Yea, I'd much prefer having no custom soundtracks at all than potentially asking for help to get 360 to sync up.

You can use ORB or Winamp too.
