OMG SYLVIA JUST TALKED TO ME THROUGH THE WIIMOTE!
-
I'm gonna get it tomorrow, cheeseburger tracer
-
junpei -- so aside from your premature orgasm, how's the gameplay? i've been on media blackout w/ NMH and was planning to buy it tonight, but it looks like most stores around here either sold out or aren't getting it until tomorrow.
-
wtf,you can't pause during the first boss fight.

Oh demi, you sure know how to sweet talk a lady.
hyp,I'll answer your question after dinner.

The gameplay is rather simple but fun.You run up to an enemy and mash A,when his health almost depleted you're prompted to swing the wiimote in a direction to decapitate your foe-which is seemingly mandatory and hurts my wrist. You can press B to stun enemies, they also block,so in the middle of a combo you can press B to guard break them.Apparently there are also wrestling moves you can do,like a suplex and such.
Pretty simple but cool.

wii goty 2008
-
i need a wii

<insert wii joke here>
-
I hope this game sell well at least. Nintendo fans have not been kind to third parties.
-
I was wrong about not being able to pause during the first boss fight, you can, just not during Travis's monolouge. The city is kinda barren but slightly busy at the same time, cars in the street & people you can hit with your bike but you can't talk to them. The bike is strange but gets the job done. Also to add the battle system, there's a roulette bar that pops up after every enemy you kill.If if you get three of the same,a special effect gets put on Travis allowing him to kill enemies much faster, mainly one hit kills. Some make his hair glow yellow, all super saiyanish.
Time for Dr.Peace!

This game rocks. No more Heroes > Smash Bros
-
I made a promise after Killer 7 to tread lightly where Suda is involved. Still, gameplay does sound more promising than last time around. I have to admit I didn't quite "get" Killer 7's style though, so I'm not sure if I can forgive gameplay concerns easily.

found a copy at best buy and yea this game is fuck awesome so far. it would've been wayyyyyy better on some REAL hardware though. the jaggies are killing my eyes. a few things i like/dislike about it:
+ great style -- love the retro ui design and busy effects
+ non-intrusive waggle controls (a couple misfires here and there as usual though)
+ story is entertaining & funny
+ special attacks are awesome
+ grapple attacks are awesome
+ tons of collectibles (clothes, trading cards, weapons?)
+ bloody and gory as hell
+ fun fun fun
- lack of true widescreen support (black bars for the fucking LOSS)
- jaggies oh the jaggies
- framerate is ASS and inconsistent
- open world navigation is boring
- side missions are kinda meh
- load times
the game reminds me of a god hand + devil may cry + gta hybrid. well at least, it pulls some aspects from those games. technically it's nothing special, but the art style and ui design makes up for the graphical shortcomings. the game feels a bit unpolished as i've run into a couple huge bugs already (got my bike stuck once). overall, the fun factor makes you overlook a lot of the problems the game has. and as far as originality is concerned, it's one of the few unique titles on the wii, already better than the majority of crap on the system. definitely worth checking out if you're hungry for a decent wii title.

I think Nintendo fans need to be realistic with their sales expectations for traditional games. Yes it uses waggle, but the game itself isnt what the majority of Wii owners want. That's why 360 dominates the software charts lulz.
-
i've got it preordered online, but i don't really see myself playing this instead of omega 5, hl2 episodes, gt5p, dmc4 etc. i'll get to it eventually.
-
I have only played up to the first boss - and wont play again till I finish some other games - but what I played was very fun...its got the same mechanic for fighting as Samurai Warriors Katana.
I loved when the girl calls on the "cellphone" to tell you about the boss.
I love the fountains of blood (and coins)
I cant even imagine what a non blood version of this would look like.
-
:( NEED
-
I had a chance to play this yesterday on my nephew's Wii. It's reminiscent of Blood+ One Night Kiss, but fun.

just bought the soundtrack, to get me excited for the game
cantttt wait
-
This game's soundtrack is pretty ace.
-
I havent heard much of it yet, Im just assuming its awesome becuase its by the guys that did Killer 7 and God hand
-
anyone have a screen from a non blood version?
-
theres still blood but its black, iirc
-
oh - i thought maybe it was just coins splashing.
-
I'm Rank 2 now,so close to the end but I don't want it to end.Apparently there are two different endings, not sure on how to get them though.I truly recommend getting all the Loviko(SP?) balls ASAP,the extra attacks you learn are helpful and you can learn to dash.
-
i hate nayone playing nmh right now because i can't

what the fuck, the gameplay is total shit; you fight in enclosed areas against respawning ennemies until it opens up a door or something. All it reminded me was some sort of high budget, art student version of those Ona-Chambara ps2 games with the bikini girl against zombies.
Actually, when you think about it, the dynamics are the same; fight waves of respawning ennemies in an enclosed area until you can go. Also the only boss I fought took like 134040 hits to die, just like in Onea-Chambara.
But the presentation is stellar. It's just that the gameplay is unacceptable for a 2008 title :(
-
Sudo should just stick to PSN/XBL titles if hes worried about overly large budgets when developing for next gen

:'(
Bosses get bit more complicated than just mash-mash later on.
Actually it sounds like you're at the beginning,if so give it some time. It's deeper than it seems,blocking,side-stepping,stunning,grabs,roulette,all good stuff.
-
I only tried the first level, I was at someone's house, and I msut admit I lost interest during the boss fight. I just.. walked away from the console. :(
