From the sounds of this they were pretty much in the mid point of the work they needed Ledger for which leaves producers in a tough spot: they can either re-cast the part and start again pretty much from scratch, re-doing all of his location shooting which would send production costs skyrocketing, or they can shut down and hope their insurance policies will cover the losses.http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/snake-bit-gilliams-imaginarium-of-doctor-parnassus-shut-down-in-wake-of-led/ (http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/snake-bit-gilliams-imaginarium-of-doctor-parnassus-shut-down-in-wake-of-led/)
How is this the end of the man's carrier?

Brothers Grimm was awful. He has had a real string of bad luck in the past few years. Real genius though.Brothers Grimm was a work-for-hire film. This movie was to be a real personal movie, with his old Brazil writer he hasnt worked with for 20 years. And it had a damn big budget for Gilliam, all thanks to the lead Heath Ledger, Ledger got the investments. Thats a lot of money Gilliam has wasted now, he'll be hard pressed to get another personal film greenlit now....

Looks like there may still be some hope.
We could get the script and do it EB style. FoC could direct (unless we've got other film students here) and we could do auditions via youtube. :hyper

Whiteman probably knows more about Gilliam style and film in general than FoC.
