I'm half-way through season 2 now and well... :'( WHA HAPPEN?
The first part of Season 2 is still pretty good.
Is there a story here? Did a key writer leave? Studio interference? I want answers!

It was originally supposed to only be 7/8 episodes. Then it became a hit and they decided to drag it out. Actually, when the season 1 finale aired, they still had not announced season 2, so the cliffhanger ending was the confirmation that there would be a season 2.
Lynch effectively left early on in season 2. He did the first episode and I think he may have done another.
Bloodwake, remember to watch the movie after finishing season 2. It has DAVID BOWIE as a fellow agent to Dale Cooper. Not an amazing movie, but it is required viewing.
The lull hits around the middle of the season.

I heard he returned for the series finale.
I've sort of been keeping with the Twin Peaks blog on AV Club. I finally watched the conclusion of the Laura Palmer story arc. There was some damn good stuff.
I turned it off about two episodes after that. Honestly, it was depressing. I really don't want to see this amazing show destroyed by Super Nadine and Bobby's military dad randomly disappearing.
Still, even with the subpar episodes, this is probably one of the best television shows ever made. I'm definitely buying the Gold Set this summer whenever I have money.

The last couple of episodes are pretty good, but the 5 or so after the mystery is solved are the absolute pits.
