COMING SOON
so anticlimatic.
I'll cum in your eye, we'll see who's anticlimactic then
So, is this comic actually worth reading?
And where should I start if I really want to?

Start at Christmas of 2006. That's where I started.

Also, Himumu or PD, I found a black person in the Thorpaverse for you. I am not sure of its gender, tho.

I'm STILL not sure what gender it is, even after doing cleanup. It has womanly cheekbones, but not womanly anything else.

I love the way the side of his left ear is all straight :lol

TVC, Cohen and I all have accounts
does anyone else want to join the Thorp Force? you can't just be a Cully-come-lately, tho. you gotta have the drive, the passion, the lust for poorly-drawn life!!

I might join, depending on:
If I like the strip
How fast I can read them.

That last panel...
I get it.

Scouring the curmudgeon archive is a good place toi start, especially the Marty Moon gambling/alcohol debacle, the clamfake storyline, and the first half of coach Kaz plays bodyguard. The self mutilation is of course an all time classic.
So, I've caught up to today's strip. Hilarity throughout.
LET'S HURT MYSELF SO I CAN GET A STARTING POSITION LOLZ.
-
Wow, great update! Inspired!
-
Don't forget about me
-
holy shit, this is actually pretty funny. bookmarked, fagbags :punch
i'd only ever read the first post in this thread; i didn't realize you guys were writing it until i read the "maureen is a jealous vindictive woman. in other words, a woman" line and said THAT SOUNDS LIKE TVC then OMG IT IS TVC :bow :rock
-
I was hoping mentioning Sylvia Plath in the comments today would bring out Patel, but no dice.
-
IIRC, he is ANTI-Plath because he believes that the adoration she receives make her EVIL HUSBAND and Iron Giant author Ted Hughes look bad.

I've been mostly editing TVC's awesome posts for maximum lulz, like applying a coat of Turtle Wax to a sleek sports car. It's not much but it's all I can seem to do. Sniff sniff. It's funny how much collaboration seems to work for comedy (c.f. sitcom writing) when it doesn't work at all for most other forms of writing.
What time does the new Gil Thorp usually go up? I seem to check a lot in the afternoon, and miss it entirely, and then by the time the site DOES update TVC has already made a post about it. If I know to check around 6 PM I can try to be a lot more proactive.
I think after we have another two weeks of content or so we are going to start spamming it out places.

It seems to go up fairly early, PST. I think I've found it there as early as 7PM.
-
I see.
also, we are still kind of finding our footing in terms of tone, how much to write about the strip in question vs. gil thorp as a whole vs. random musings per day, etc. I am in favor of keeping it short and punchy so that the archive can build up over time. I would love to see more awesome posts like Cohen's to break up the strip commentary, tho.
-
Yeah, I mainly write the first thing that comes to mind, so I appreciate the editing. By the time it's the evening I am generally relaxed and I dun wanna refine shit.
-
Well it's not that I don't care, I'm just fuckall busy right now. We can let the tone of the story dictate how we post about it. right now is a fairly wacky piece of nonsense so keeping it linear is probably best, but as soon as we get into lost dog style natrrative a-la Mary Worth we can spin it off.
my terse "I see" was in response to TVC's 7 PM, not your post!
-
Your recent post was fuck awesome, though.
