Title: Why do people hype Event Horizon?

It's a good movie, but people always talk about it like it's something super special.  It's just a haunted house movie in space with some now-dated CG.

Enlighten me.

eh, it was scary for its day only because I was so young.  A good sci-fi flick now though.  Nothing awesome.  Most of my love for it is nostalgia.  I watched it again about a year back and I didn't even finish it.

Edit: Good theater movie though.  Definitely not the same effect at home.
