Title: hw do i disable the touchpad on a vaio laptop?

i can't type in my shitty fashion on this vaio without my hand grazing the touchpad and fucking everything up. how do i disable the touchpad?

Can you just disable the driver in device manager?

there's no specific driver for it -- it might be part of the mobo drivers or some general class of peripheral.

My sister's labtop needs some background apps for the pad to function.  Maybe you can try disabling Sony related apps with msconfig.
