Title: OFFICIAL POLL: What gameplay bug will Nintendo fans argue gives SSBB "depth"?
Post by: Howard Alan Treesong on January 30, 2008, 05:17:28 PM
Remember: it's not a bug, it's a feature!

I never understood wavedashing personally

but its been removed anyway

I think they added aerial parries or something, but thats a feature not a bug!

I honestly didn't take smash brothers or most fighting games so seriously as to know terms such as ''wave cancelling''.

Why try and memorize combos when you can just mash buttons like a 12 year old?

Even better:  Why mash buttons when you can just pick starfox and use his gun the entire time?

I love EB.  A game like Smash Brothers, that irks many posters here, has not one, but three threads on the first page.

um, sure there is. there's been several demos as i'm sure you're aware of. stuff like wavedashing and l-canceling has been taken out, and they haven't found anything apart from one rather useless technique that was removed in the next demo, and if anything shows up i am fairly certain it won't be anything as gameplay altering as l-canceling.

Do you really believe that?  (Good) fighting games get tested for shit all the time and it means nothing.  There is no way of telling what will show up until the game has been out for a while.  That's how it always is.

yeah i fully believe that, wavedashing and l-canceling both played a huge part in speeding up the game and elevating it beyond being a simplistic fighter. surely something will come up that might be useful, but nothing that makes it close to what melee was. i'm expecting a major bomba as far as the competitive scene goes
