Not Z! The original! 13 eps with more story and character than 3 seasons of DBZ

it was the inspiration for one piece!
-
I own all the manga.
In spanish.
-
*Bulma showing goku what a bath is, goku walks in naked with a towel in hand*
"GOKU! YOURE SUPPOSED TO COVER YOUR FRONT!"
"What? Like this?"
*Goku holds the towel over his face*
-
Wasn't there a part where he sees Bulma's breasts and he's like "OMG WHY DO YOU HAVE AN ASS ON YOUR CHEST"
OOOOOOOHHH HUAHUAHAUAHUAHUA
-
dont recall off the top of my head, just started watching it again. There is a part where goku pretty much convinces her that all boys have tails cause she hasn't seen another without clothes on.
-
That might've been a manga-only scene, then.
-
dragon ball is fuck awesome. i used to watch it when i was pretty young. it kicks the shit out of dragon ball z.
-
right on!
-
DRAGON BALL!!!
-
Yes, I liked the first series much more than z.
-
The original series is the best of all Dragon Ball because it has this sort of Looney Tunes-esque nature and every episode contains a very independent adventure as opposed to DBZ's style of spending a good 5 episodes highlighting Goku simply powering up.

i used to watch dr slump all the time when i was living in japan. i loved arale.
read the manga a few years ago and it still holds up.
i like toriyama, but i never really got into dragon ball.

You should read his one-shot graphic novel SandLand. It's his very best work, imo.
EDIT: Then again, I haven't gotten around to Dr. Slump yet.

i read sandland as it was published in shonen jump usa. i bought a year subscription when they started doing it monthly over here to support more manga.
i also had a 6 month sub to Raijin Comics. I guess that didn't help as much.

I was a huge fan of Shonen Jump when it first came out, I think I had the first 100 issues, but I've moved away from manga so much that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I just got sick of the uninspired characters and plots, but I can always suffer Toriyama. His shit is golden, just like Katsuhiro Otomo.

yeah, i lost my job and was out of work for like 6+ months and i stopped buying all comics until like a year ago, so i've really cut back on the non-essentials
