Title: What do you think of people who put historical quotes in e-mail signatures?
Post by: The Fake Shemp on February 03, 2008, 04:30:39 AM
I know a person that constantly puts Winston Churchill quotes in his signature.  It's kind of annoying.  Like, it looks arrogant.

I voted "I think they rock" and apparently I'm the only one. :'(

I don't think they're like OMGAWESOME, but I don't think it's so terrible either. A Socrates quote, "Wisdom begins in wonder," is something I use for signatures and stuff from time to time. I don't think it's much different from putting movie quotes or song lyrics. Some of those can be just as meaningful.

Not nearly annoying as people on GameFAQS quoting Sephiroth. No, I'm not making this up.

Also, I'm not a grammar nazi or anything but that has got to be one of the most annoying errors ever. I think because it's starting to become a daily occurrence. "AND IM LIKE OMG I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT XYZBULLSHIT" I think I even heard it in an emofag song the other day too.

Most of the popular Winston Churchill quotes are fake anyway.  You can find pretty much any dumb rightish nostrum imaginable attributed to Winston Churchill somewhere.

which one?

I don't have a signature.

I hate themed backgrounds more than signatures.  Keep your puppies and daisy fields and butterflies to yourself, please.

Kidding, it's not a big deal.
