PLATFORMING FUCK
-
not nearly as hard as some of the finale shinobi acts plat-forming.
-
Which stage? I think I know where you are? There a few terrible platforming areas in that game.
-
I'm not necessarily stuck anywhere. It's just an additional headache on top of dealing with the difficult encounters and a seriously unforgiving checkpoint system.
And yeah, there are a few places where it's REALLY bad. The camera is at fault, for the most part. I thought it was supposed to be fixed with the Hurricane packs...
-
I couldn't get into the game due to the terrible camera :P
-
Some of the absolute worst parts for the camera are in the very first stage. Manuvering around in those little dojos is a gigantic pain in the ass. It serves as a nice introduction for the headaches ahead.
-
Oh God, thats not nearly as bad as the one plattforming section in Tairon. Or the puzzle after you defeat Doku.
-
i don't know why people complained about dmc3's checkpoint system when NG's was much worse. You'd go sometimes 20 minutes without a checkpoint, you'd die, and then have to start all over again.

DMC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NG
-
DMC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NG
Basically. If NG2 doesn't drop the platform nonsense or feature some major camera reinvention, I don't see myself buying it.
-
I liked NG checkpoint system actually. It had camera issues, but I preferred NG over DMC3.

I agree. I hated the checkpoints at first, but once I realized that it meant i had to take each enemy encounter seriously, i enjoyed the game as a whole much more. With DMC4 most encounters are only interesting for trying out new combos...there's no tension to speak of.

stop dying.
and use the shoulder/trigger button to position the camera behind you.
