I thought it was a fanmade ad (is it? Have I been tricked? Oh god...)
What the fuck
-
better than nothing, see BD.
-
What the fuck Himu, did he like? He probably did. HIMU EXPLAIN
better than nothing, see BD.
BD did have TV spots (saw it a couple of times, rare like a mewto though) but shit, atleast that one didn't have a cover of "Mad World"
-
Himu loved it, a few other folks did too. I dunno, wtf, hippie music and psychedelic Alice in Wonderland imagery do not go well with epic visuals.
-
Next up, MS is gonna advertise Rez HD by using a Rascal Flatts song.
-
THANX FOR SPOILERZ MS
-
ONE IS THE NUMBER, THIS GAME HAS ONE PERSON THAT LIVES FOREVER. ONE IS THE NUMBER, WE ARE USING THIS SONG CAUSE IT CENTERS AROUND THE NUMBER ONE. OHHHHH ONE IS THE NUMBER....
-
I saw it on G4 twice earlier tonight. It wasn't that bad, but not the type of commercial that gets people to buy it.
-
They've making a move for the Baby Boomer audience, watch out Nintendo!
-
The craziest thing about this ad was reading about how people have never heard freakin' White Rabbit before or knew who Jefferson Airplane was. How is that even possible? *scratches head*

-

I love it so lock this.
-
i think it's an awesome ad. But a stupid one in the sense that no one is effin buyin this if that's all they have

-
Learn to read. I've heard of Animal House. Who hasn't heard of it. I haven't seen it though.

this is microsoft's way of saying "man, we sure would like to sell more than 30k of this game, how can we be really vague about the fact that it's a nerdy-ass rpg and maybe catch come confusion sales"

Yup.
They should have made a couple of ads though, they coulda made this into the big spring release. Run this ad on Comedy Central or something and put another commercial touting it as from the makers of Final Fantasy on some nerd show.
I'm still real interested in the game, but I've barely gotten started on ME and I don't want to embiggen my backlog. How long is the game?
-
apparently there's a lot of reading, and it's four discs (I believe) long, so i figure 40-60 hours, maybe?
-
It's not voice acted?
I don't think I have time for 40-60 unless the game is really outstanding. o wellz
-
I don't think Microsoft really cares if this doesn't sell a million units - this is an image thing for them. Like the Xbox itself, they're willing to take a los to establish themselves in the market. With Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and the like, they're trying to prove that the system can appeal to gamers who owned a PS2 last generation and their system is more than just shooters and sports games.
I do agree that the marketing could be a lot better, though. I think there's potential here to really do well. I will say that they're at least spending more on Lost Odyssey than Blue Dragon.

apparently there are these storybooks or journals or whatever you have to read, unless i am mistaking it for some other recent rpg, but yeah it is voice acted during cut scenes i believe
-
i dunno, it actually got me interested in the game until i caught myself and realized i don't really care for rpgs that much and it would most likely sit on the shelf for months
-
I'm not a huge RPG guy, but the story and game has me definitely interested. Blue Dragon was good stuff too.
-
yeah, i keep thinking about getting into BD, it looks pretty cool, maybe when i can pick it up used for $25
-
It's like $29 used at GameStop already!
-
Really? Haven't kept up with prices lately. May have to pick that up this weekend, then. It's too long for a Gamefly rental.
