You don't have to apologize, I played it too, and I enjoyed it (despite the dodgy translation) until I started disc 2, which is when it all went to crap.

i couldn't finish it because it kind of bored me.  i really wanted to all three times i played it, but i never even got to disc 2.

I have a love-hate relationship with Xenogears... I love the breadth of its story, the diversity in environments, the music... but then there's the constant cinemas with unskippable text moving at a snail's pace, lots of random encounters, the Tower of Babel, the whole of disk 2. Xenosaga, there's a game I only have a hate-hate relationship with. One of the worst RPGs ever, I'd rather play through Ghost Lion or Secret of the Stars than that shit.

holy shit. the tower of babel segment was god awful because if you saved you ccould potentially fuck up your game because the fight with those chicks was fucking TOUGH

I like Xenogears and I like Chu-Chu.  Masato Kato did all the scenes involving Chu-Chu, by the way and for that alone (and Chrono Trigger/Cross) he will always have a special place in my heart

Xenogears is okay for a while. Largely the Xeno series is an atrocious failure.
