There's no point. GTAIV pre loads the entire game before starting up the game so both versions won't have load times. Either way, the game is still going to have to load before you start playing, so having an install would be fucking stupid.

:bow awesome nerd joke that Himumu won't get :bow
Something has to be up - if Bluray is just as fast as DVD (and i have no reason to doubt the many reports that it is) , then why the need for a MANDATORY install? is it that the disk cache is being used to help as a virtual memory pool or something equally as weird?
Is it just Sony/Companies are trying to get us ready for the "oh that whole 'we need bluray for games thing? turns out it was bollox from us, sorry! but please buy a bigger hard drive and start downloading PS3 games from PSN. Thanks ta please awesome"
what was wrong with what i said

The read speed of the PS3 BD drive is slower than that of the DVD drive's read speed in X360. I am guessing that games requiring a mandatory install were counting on the 360's read speed for streaming? I'm not quite sure how any of that works.
Why do some exclusive PS3 games require an install?
It just seems like either the developers are being lazy, Sony's trying to sell more hard drives, or something else is going on.
Installation should be optional :(
20/40 gig'ers are going to be either in for install/uninstall hell
It's like a fridge. Sony's doing us a favor. I mean, who REALLY wants to play Uncharted a few months after the fun has spoiled?
Sony's always doing the classy thing.
it's an awesome situation thought : the only way you can argue that this doesn't affect you as a 20/40 gig owner is to agree with the Xbots that there are no games worth playing ! ;)
i would say something about the total inanity of this installation argument, but folding@home was the subject of a big console fight the other day, so i guess standards have gone up. this is now really fucking germane.
i have 2.something TB of storage space
What's the point of owning a console if I have to wait 20 mins for a game to install? I can't even do crap with the system while the game is installing. At least on the PC, I can still mess around on the net while the game is instalilng.
I'm saying people are getting their trolls crossed. Suddenly "ps3 has no games" has turned into "ps3 has so many fucking games with mandatory installs I can't even use it."

Many (most?) of the installs are fucking big. It doesn't need to have many good games to be causing issues. I've had to fuck around for space on my 20 gigger more than once.

20gb? I didn't know you were a filthy poor. :(
