Title: Has the WII ever ruined your day?

Yesterday, during a lab session to review cranial anatomy, some guys started talking about games.  There were some talk about Rock Band and Guitar Hero but eventually the discussion was about how awesome the WII is.  One guy mentioned that he wants a NHL game with waggle while another wanted to pratice his golf with the WII.  While hearing them gush over the WII, I had a strong desire to smash the skull models over their heads.   For the rest of the review session, I couldn't concentrate because I was just thinking what a bunch of idiots my classmates were.   :-\

People who come into my shop say shit like that all the time.  The 20 something crowd in my area are fucking Wii crazy....I cannot handle it.
 I actually feel physically ill when I hear people gush over that goddam system.  Maybe one day I will projectile vomit into a crowd of those fuckers and start a Stand By Me chain reaction.

The wii's lineup is by far the weakest lineup I have ever seen.

EDIT: I almost threw up on the wall of wii crap when I went into Play n Trade in Lex. the other day.

I have never heard anybody in public gush over the wii.  But all my friends are fairly serious gamers and know what kind of line-up that wii has.

well just becuase people are enjoying something that you dont like doesnt mean they are bad people necessarily. I mean it can be frustrating, every time someone gushes about Ocarina of Time, the Rolling Stones, Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, GTA, or some other new flavor of the month 'The' Band, I get so mad inside. Its like some dude is pissing all over me, a really horrible feeling. It generally doesnt help my social situation if I start bagging on their homo game or taco dinosaur band so Im learning to keep these feelings to myslef. My insides and blood are blackening becuase of this but sometimes you need to make some self sacrifice for the good of the world

I gave it a chance 'cause I'm a Nintendo fan.  The library has just been inexcusably horrible.  Also, it's painful to look at Wii games after playing PS3/360/PC.  As sparse as the GC's library was, at least its top games were some of the best looking games of last gen.  I wish I had kept my WII until last Christmas and sold it on Ebay.

the only thing I don't like about wii are the wiilees on gaf that have convinced themselves that the wiimote makes games like godfather "fresh" and that zack and wiki isn't designed by people with three missing limbs.

I've heard that a lot of developers just develop for gamecube,not for Wii.

The Wii has kept my girlfriend quite happy whereas my PS3 has not, besides being able to play Katamari on it, she's pretty much shunned the technically superior machine.  It can be argued that the Wii IS reductive, and it can be argued that itself is one of its strengths.  While I never expected to catch on as it has, I do understand why its caught on with the crowd that normally rejects anything with more complicated then American Idol and Nascar.

My Wii has proved its worth for Zack and Wiki, the return of good puzzle games, and Ghost Squad (and future light gun shooters).  Although it hasn't happened yet, I'm hoping that the Wii cultivates an audience for the genres it can do well (point and clickers, puzzle games, rail shooters), but that won't happen as long as all the casuals keep buying those damn (http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Of-All-Games-34184/dp/B000QD7BBM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1202708263&sr=8-1") fucking (http://www.amazon.com/Mario-Sonic-at-Olympic-Games/dp/B000R3BNE2/ref=pd_bbs_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1202708263&sr=8-3") shitty (http://www.amazon.com/Winter-Sports-The-Ultimate-Challenge/dp/B000X418EU/ref=pd_bbs_9?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1202708263&sr=8-9") party games.

The DS started off with lots of minigame fests and other assorted shit, it eventually found its way (sorta).  I'm hoping the Wii will do the same, at least I'll always have Ghost Squad and Geometry Wars: Galaxies (hot awesome megafucking good)

wii is a different market and possible demo than ds though.  with ds, people (average gamers as in) don't mind if they see a bunch of casual games on it because they don't get handhelds for serious gaming sessions.  hopefully that makes the wii shape up fast.  even if it doesn't offer any solution for conventional controls.

I like the Wii.  I mean I never thought of it as a primary system.  I knew it was a system were I would get my Nintendo fix, being the N-tard that I am, and probably some third party gems.  Just like the 'cube.  I just wish it had a better online system.  Friend codes are LOLworthy.  I love the VC, but prices need to go down.  And there needs to be better storage solution as well.  I just wish Nintendo wasn't so cheap with the hardware and at least given us a more meatier system--graphically--not PS360 level, but more than 5 year old hardware.

the more i use the wii, the more the aiming with the wiimote feels janky.  i think i would've liked it better if the accuracy was bumped up.  otherwise, the wii gets the least of my playtime.  360/PS3 combo is what i prefer, but only because i'm an HD graphics whore.  the wii used to be the party system when we had some folks come over, now it's rock band.  so it's picking up even more dust than ever.  no more heroes was neat until DMC4 came out.  :rock
