I dreamt that for some reason, through some unexplained natural phenomenon, I was placed in stasis for roughly 256 million years (I don't know why I know that was the exact amount of time, but that's how long my dream logic told me it was). Upon waking, I saw no remnant of anything we could call "civilization." Humanity was less than a distant dream. It was as though it had never even existed. In its place lay nothing recognizable, animals which had evolved through millions of years and adjusted to a world without man. The Earth was truly an alien world, and perhaps the most horrifying nightmare I've ever had...for it is our inevitable future. :'(

STOP. WATCHING. ANIME
-
Were you still in Japan?
-
I was in America. Though knowing I was on a vast continent did nothing to ease my loneliness, being the last intelligent being in the universe and all. :'(
-
Why do you have dreams like this, and I have dreams about noiry men trying to murder me in my apartment?
-
I hardly remember my dreams :/
-
That would be terrifying if mankind didn't have the intervening 256 million years to get used to the new surroundings. Sort of a gradual acclimatization process, if you will.
-
Ichi, have you ever read Childhood's End?
-

Do you honestly think mankind will be around in 256 million years? 'Cause that makes you a pretty big optimist.
I honestly think mankind is going to be extinct by the end of the next millennium.
No, I haven't read Childhood's End.
-
Your dream reminded me of that book. You should read it, it's really good.
-
good god, how would you deal with the isolation ? The horror of being on your own?
oh wait...
:lol
This probably is not that off the mark. It probably has something to do with his subconscious and fear of returning to America and finding things have changed around him /Dr. Phil
-
Well, I may be returning to America in seven months. You may have hit the nail on the head. But I think it also has to do with how I was reading about how the Republicans and conservative wingnuts are STILL denying global warming.
Also, I was in America just last December. :P

I dont know McCain acknowledges 'Climate Change' and he is the Republican front runner.

Just because he "acknowledges" it doesn't mean he has any plans to do anything about it. Does he acknowledge that it's manmade? I'm not up on his environmental record at all.

Just pointing out that the only reason why something like this would be terrifying is if you're confronted with it all at once rather than gradually. it was your subconscious that came up with the 256 million figure, not mine...

I've been having dreams about being a king lately, most likely because I read GEORGE RR MARTIN before going to bed each night. Last night I dreamed a 14 year old girl was betrothed to me after her father swore allegiance to my house (The House of Cooks). Then I had dreamed that I sacked a city and had sex with a baker's wife, who bore me a bastard who looked like my dad

So you're like Will Smith except a japafag? :-*
-
Will Smith was living in the ruins of NYC. In my dream, there was no NYC. There was no trace of human civilization left.
-
Maybe it wasn't Earth
-
If I knew it was 256 million years in the future, and if I knew I was in America...I knew it was EARTH.
Or as Will Smith would say, URF.
-
Maybe you were insane in the dream
-
Maybe I am insane in real life.

Must be time for you to leave Japan, Ichi! Me too :/

Let's leave together. Honeymoon in Brisbane. :heartbeat
-
Ok. Actually, the more I think about leaving these days the more I think I want to do it and just go home and relax in the sun for a while.
-
Soak up the sun and catch some cancer like Roy Scheider. :(
-
I think that's inevitable for me anyway. I've got a bunch of suspicious spots I've been meaning to check out.
-
Melanomas!
-
Cancer? Under my skin??
awwww :-\

The scariest dream I ever had was one where my mom was making me dinner and she was serving zombie babies, and the zombie baby started crawling around my plate and my mom was like "They do that sometimes, you just got to stab it with your fork" and then it fell off the table and started crawling around the floor and I tried to get away from it but it was crawling towards me with the fork clutched in it's little decaying hand while my mom was still saying "Just stab it with the fork!"
I woke up in a cold sweat and wasn't able to get back to sleep that night.
-
I bet your mom was a zombie too.
-
Nah, she was normal, it was just the zombie babies. They kept crying and looking at me with their dead eyes, even while they were being stewed in a pot. Please don't make me eat the zombie babies mom! :o :o
-
i don't normally have dreams (thanks to modern chemistry) but last night i had an odd one. i was superman and i was just walking around helping people and then captain mavel showed up (aka shazam) and we went to a house party.
