I have to give Slurpy over at NeoGAF (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=239404) credit this for one, but it was so fucking funny that I thought it'd spark a neat discussion over here...

HAW HAW HAW

Seriously tho. I dont have issues with Vista. I use 3 different machines with it daily, 2 desktops, 1 laptop. One of those I use for work, two are for games and whatever else. Truth be told I have a laptop I use for work with XP SP2 installed and I dont have problems with that one either.

So wtf kids. wtf.

I use it so much im getting the same effect from going from my Vista machine to XP SP2 machine that I got back when going from an XP SP2 machine to a 98se machine. The older OS just feels EXTRA old for some reason.

My home desktop is a Compaq from like 6-7 years ago. It looked dumpy back THEN.

Well thanks to manufacturers and their slow speed of developing proper vista drivers, the first 6 months after Vista release weren't OMG awesome

HP is pretty good about what is pre-installed imo. Usually I just wipe a machine right when I get it with my own vista installation anyway. Im not a big fan of personalized drivers and recovery applications. Most of the time personalized drivers will perform slower than those straight from say..Nvidia, for example.

Im sure XPSP2 STILL has issues, but thats the burden of extreme compatiblity.

Vista looks pretty, that's all I can give it.

It's pretty damn bad whenever Staples is fucking advertising that Vista sucks, so they can give you XP instead.

I only reason to use xp, for me anyway, are for compatibility issues for programs that no longer get support anyway lol

That can't be real -- nobody in a marketing department would ever put the word "Downgrade" in an advertisement.  What store circular is that supposedly from?

LOLZ Vista spec'ed into Arcane.

Yup, me too.  For me, it's mostly about games.  Some games just run like crap on Vista.

Nah Staples was pretty dumb about things sometimes. All companies have their issues
