I hadn't heard of it before
I hope it has no demo :hyper

Here's where I broke the news back in April of 2007
No idea if it's any good, but apparently people jizz over it - good thing there is a DEMO
It has online, and 4p offline
-
:bow demi
More than 4p online or no?
I rented it once on PS1 back in the day, I remember liking it but preferring TM so not buying it.
-
was this game any good?
Better than Twisted Metal.
-
sweet, i'll try out the DEMO

That's not saying much. Car combat games almost always suck.

Is that on a linear track? If so, Road Rash
-
V8 is great.
I had it on N64.
Its on PS2/PSone also.
-
iis car combat with a disco theme - good stuff.
-
I will definitely download the demo first
-
To make sure it's not just nostalgia

I just don't like arena combat with cars. Rail shooting car games are alright.
-
Spyhunter for the PS2 was not bad.
-
Vigilante 8 came out at a time when the Twisted Metal series was at an all time low, so I think most people's perception of it was seriously skewed by the direct comparison. Nice at the time, but it's not anywhere near as good as Twisted Metal Black or subsequent car combat games.
-
Agreed. V8 is good. I remember playing it on the N64 with the hi res mode enabled at like 10 FPS.
Twisted Metal Black takes a giant dump in its face though. TM2 (and, by extension, Head On) and Black are really excellent games. 1, 3, 4, and Small Brawl are kinda embarrassing.
-
Vigilante 8 was barely playable when it first came out (1998?)
Id imagine Its a fucking shocker now
but online could be amusing...
400 points or bust, considering you can buy the original game for less than $5
-
It's a ground-up remake, so playability shouldn't be a problem.

60fps (no tearing) or bust

I think its more like the best Outrun-with-guns ever made, but yeah, Roadblasters is fecking awesome.

Racing Destruction Set >> all

Yea right
Maybe on PSN
-
Vigilante 8 is in my all-time top 10. What a great game. Plays well, locales are exciting, combat is good. It was everything the completely ridiculous vehicle-combat genre should be
-
OH MY GOD
I WANT
You see, whenever I had a N64 and no PS1, this is what I would play. For hours, and hours and hours.
SO FUN.
