I'm loving DMC4 on the PS3, but I'm actually thinking of picking up the 360 version as well. Achievements, slightly better graphics, and more robust leaderboards may push me over the edge. But 60 bucks is still a lot pay for a game you already own. Have any of you guys double dipped this gen?

I have 2 360s; does that count? :D
-
I did with Oblivion.... and I can't belive I did that. I've bitched up and down about that game and then I go and pick it up for the PS3 just because. I will say that I had a better time with the PS3 version just 'cause it wasn't loaded with N64 style textures like the 360 one had. I never thought I was that big of a graphic whore, but there you are. Oblivion on the 360 could look down right nasty at times.

I first read that as RROD joke. You mean you currently own two 360s?

Did it look better on PS3? I might double dip.

Noticeably. It did have some weird framerate problems in certain areas that wasn't present in the 360 game though - particularly during the main story quests. There were some sections where the game would literally move one frame every two seconds and it wouldn't go away until I left the area....which sometimes would take awhile. Overall though it performed better on the PS3.

I currently own 2 360s. One for the living room, one for the game room. It also serves as RROD insurance.

Did it look better on PS3? I might double dip.
ps3 version also has sorely reduced lighting and normal mapping effects
oblivion dx8 edition :'(
360 version is a lo-fi pc version, but at least it doesn't have a castrated lighting/shading pipeline :'(

So PC version wins again.
Too bad I'm a proud Macafag.

I double dipped on RR6... bought the PS3 version a year later and got a couple of free tracks and no voice chat. I said wow.
I forgot about that. But, yeah that seems to Scamco's plan this gen. Release a timed 360 exclusive due to Microsoft cash and then release a numbered sequel, which is really a director's cut of the previous game. ;)

Virtua Fighter 5, although it technically wasn't the same game on both platforms.
Ditto for Ridge Racer 6 and Ridge Racer 6.57 <-- I prefer Ridge Racers 2 on PSP to them both :P
Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection if you want to count that too (PSP and PS3)
Outrun 2006 (released during this gen) for PSP and PS2
Sengoku Basara 2/Heroes (ditto) for PS2 and Wii
Musou Orochi (PS2, sold for 360, and next week is the PSP version)
Samurai Warriors 2 (PS2 and then 360, then BACK to PS2)
Guilty Gear Accent Core (PS2 and then Wii)
Biohazard 4 (Wii version following the GC and PS2 versions)
Tomb Raider Legend for PSP and 360.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff, too...

Not this gen (since I don't actually own any current gen consoles lol), but I've double and triple dipped plenty of times past gens.
-
Just RE4 on Wii and I guess a few VC games.
-
I bought Call of Duty 2 for the PC and Xbox 360.
-
i was gonna say no, but i guess rr7 counts
fu scamco
-
hey Rman, what's your gamertag?
-
Why the fuck would you buy VT3 on PS3?
-
RR6/7
VF5
thats it
-
I bought most of the classic arcade games on XBLA, even though I own most of them on classic arcade compilations. >:(
-
I can not comprehend why anybody would do this. usually it has to be a while before I go back to finish a game. this might be useful if you really want a version of it on every system. especially if it's one version for handheld and one for console. but it's a waste otherwise.

Bought The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii. hated the controls and the flipped maps. Sold it and bought the GC version.
-
I sold my copy of Okami the day the Wii version was announced. I plan on getting that. Did the same with RE4.
-
Okami sucks
-
Almost did for The Orange Box. (PC, almost bought 360)
-
I bought a PS3 so I can play VF5 early, and then I bought the 360 version so I can play it online.
For some reason, I don't feel ripped off. The game was so good it was almost worth buying twice.
