That study was BS. The sample size was 1000 units, for chrissakes. That is like .01% of all 360s sold--not an adequate sample size. The rate may be higher and it might be (probably not) lower.

Well I play the shit out of my 360. Used it for dvd's, hd dvd's, games, streaming. Everything. But still, no excuse. Oh well. I'll get my coffin and send it in

The thing doesn't turn on with the controller an it doesn't even start properly when I go over to the thing and press the "on" button on the console itself. I have to turn it off and on at least twice before it'll kick in. I actually called MS to get a replacement for it and they sent a box and all but I got side tracked playing Mass Effect and I went beyond my 30 day window to use it. I'll have to call 'em again and set up another work order.

It's really inexcusable for MS. I'm probably not going to go out and buy their next console until after the first revision.

definitely. it's obnoxious. it's too bad I go where the games are :'(

Exactly. I got a Halo 3 Box that is running perfectly (knocks on wood) but the stress/waiting that went into that purchase will be remembered like I remember my PS1 dying. I won't buy the next MS console at launch, pretty much no matter what.
