I did pretty well against him the only time I played with him. Himu, on the other hand, kicked my ass.

I don't know what the deal was with the lag.  I've never played one that bad before.

Uh, I don't know what to say for the counters.  The window is so small that I only really see any use for it when your opponent is being REALLY predictable with strings.

I don't know if you have already have VF4:Evolution or not, but the tutorials in that are FANTASTIC and most of the basics still apply to VF5.  I believe counter scenarios are covered pretty well under some of the more counter-heavy characters (Aoi, Akira).  I recommend picking it up for that feature alone.

Blame Himu. The lag when we played was AWFUL.

Yes of course I have VF4:EVO. I need to pop it in for a refresher. VF5's tut sucks. I can get counters, it's just I can never remember what animation is for what counter and makes me tear my hair out

I wish I could play you guys, but most of you seem to be asleep when I get on.   :'(

They have VF5 Version D at the arcades here now.  No new game play, but CRAZY outfits and customization.  The whole game has this weird pirate theme now, too.   :lol

Don't pop in a previous version of a fighting game (it's not even the last release of VF4-- Final Tuned was!) to learn playing the newer one.  That isn't going to help you.
