Your new car's not bad.  It's much better than a Maxima but you should have given the BMW 335 a try.  A lot of experts think that the 335 is the best car in that class.  Some even think that it's currently the best car period.  I'm strongly going to consider the M3 when I get a new car.

Mups is gettin a Mercedes.

I drove one of those roadsters yesterday.

Oh I do also love the BMW M I drove two diferent models M 3/5.

I liked it but my Nissan Loyalty + the price to get the BMW M fully loaded VS. Infiniti fully loaded swayed me for sure.

I think Infiniti has the best priced technology add on packages.

I probably still have another year before I finally go and trade up my truck for it.  I figure 2 years of consistent good truck payments should put me in a good position when I finance my SLK :drool

Dood I had one in view recently where even after putting 40K cash down plus a 7K trade in + a 15K trade in my payment would have been $1,800 a month LOL.

ITs too much for me.

For the kind of handling and performance that you get, the 335 is the best deal on the market.  I personally would go for a M3 but it's obviously not a better value.

Add-on packages shouldn't be a higher priority than performance.  It's much easier to change how a car looks than how it drives.

haha

Well my SLK will be a used '03-'04 model, 280, 4 cylinder :drool

I'm not too fond of the newer styles.

Im not so much talking about add on trim and exterior stuff - im talking add on tech, handing and control stuff. BMW Nickels and dimes you more on stuff that Infiniti just includes.

The alternate AT/MT transmission with the paddle shifters in my model is very important to me - its not included in the base G35 or G35 voyager packages.

Mupepe, I tested out the newest SLK but I didn't like how it handled.  It's too laid back for a sportscar.  My aunt bought one though, which confirmed my suspicion that it's made for older drivers.

But even with all those add-ons, I bet the G35 still doesn't handle as well as a stock 335I.  Also, tech add-ons usually detract from the driving experience.  Pure manual is the best way to go if you're a good driver.

I drove one in 04 for an extended period of time (~1 month or so), but it had aftermarket suspension.  It handled like a fucking dream.

I also love being able to switch between AT and MT

And the pickup on it.  omg

I live in a heavily congested area....only having MT in my old G34 coupe is why I always drove the AT maxima instead of it...

I like that I an switch from AT to MT in the G35 for highway action - thats the only time its not gonna annoy me ;)

This car needs to serve multiple purposes for me - im down from 2 cars to just the G35 now.

You can't switch between At and MT, dude.  No car can.  It's just an AT that gives you more control over which gear you are in.   Some sportscars also have clutchless MT (sorta like the F1 cars) that have automatic modes but they're generally not as smooth as real AT.

I understand it's not real manual.  but I like having that control.

Try out the SMG in BMWs then.  It's a cluthcless manual with paddles control.  It's not quite convenient as an auto but you get the full performance of a manual.  SMG's not the same thing as Abrader's G35 which just has an transmission similar to the SLK.  With the SMG, even when you put it in full automatic mode, you can still feel the car changing gears like a traditional manual.

I went out and got my doc to write a script for some amantadine, so I guess I bought that today with my co-pay.

I'm a total fucking mess right now.  I drove over to the lab I work at and did some tests on myself and sure enough my CBC was fucked all to hell and I came up positive for Influenza A.  My eyes must have some sort of bacteria infection going on too 'cause they're both red and nearly swollen shut oozing this yellow pus.....I cultured that too and did a gram stain but I won't find out what it really is until tomorrow when I can work out the plate.  When I went to the pharmacy I had people scrambling to get out of my way....I really look like fucking walking death.

This is the viral strain from hell.

They had another copy, I could go back and see if it's there tomorrow. I doubt it, though, since I posted about it on the regional forums at CAG.
