Got accepted to University of Pitt, Belmont, and Cincinatti. I plan on applying to Akron U and Kent State for back up plans. Got a sweet scholarship for Belmont too. Omg I'm going to coooooollege soon omg
Anyone go to any of these schools? Anyone like 'em?
I'm pretty pysched for Belmont, they have a rad music business program.

Some dude on gaf beat me to the cajole-Veronica Belmont joke.
-
Yeah I go to Cincinnati. Best design/art school ever. The rest of the campus is just average I guess.
-
Cincy puts you only 2 hours away from hanging out with some awesome Kentucky fuckers.

Is that out of DAAP? If you got into DAAP, go, really. It's one of the best art schools in the country, university or not. Plus, we have the hottest girls in ohio here :D

I thought about going to U of Pitt for a while. Got in, but didn't get any scholarships or anything. In the end I decided to stay local to me--Pitt is 5-6 hours away. My tuition is tons higher at a private college, but I have leadership and academic scholarships and I don't have to pay room and board.
I have friends who go there and they like it. I don't think I'd do well in such a huge school, though. Sure, you can never go to class and no one will notice, but I like my professors knowing me.
It sounds like Belmont would be great for you. You've already got a scholarship and they have a good program for what you want to do!

YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE ME
I didn't get any scholarships from Pitt either, but they have a pretty good English program and Film School shtuff as well. I would have gone there for a bit for Film school and then think about switch to Carnegie Melon. It's still on the table, but for right now Cincy and Belmont look waaaaaay more realistic. I made a similar topic at gaf asking if anyone went to Belmont and a few lpeople said it was strict and harsh–oh big fucking deal.
Omg I'm going to college
edit: Oh my lord, I'm an idiot. Those gaffites were making Castlevania jokes. *sigh*

I heard that because all the schools are in the same general area, they have this thing where credits transfer easily between Pitt, Carnegie Mellon, and Duquesne. I don't know anything else about it, though.
Also, did you know Carnegie Mellon isn't pronounced like Carnegie Hall? It's Car-nay-gee Mellon. Weird.
-
Did you apply to U Penn? It's pretty easy to get in for an Ivy League school. Many of my smarter friends used it as one of their backup schools.
-
Have you visited all these schools in person?
-
gj bud :-*

Nikki: Yeah that's the thing. If I go to any of the city colleges in Pittsburgh, you can basically switch to any of the others pretty easily. I have an acquaintance that went to U of Pitt for Film Studies and switched easily to Carnegie Mellon and is doing quite well there.
Smooth Groove: lol. I have no faith in either my intelligence or my motivation to be able to be successful at an Ivy League School
Drewsy: I used to live in Pittsburgh, so I'm pretty familiar with Pitt. Cincy, no, but I plan to go soon. And I just went to Belmont a few weeks ago for a little trip. It's quite pretty.

Congrats, Brandew. :)
Where exactly do you live, by the way?
-
Cincy can be a rough city, or so I hear. Considering how close I am I've never really been there for too long, and have never really driven there.

Please tell me you're gonna let someone read through your application so they can correct your spelling.

Yeah, you can run into trouble here if you're stupid.
I live right across from the ghetto on Calhoun street. So far there's been a drug related shooting at the building next door, and a healthy handful of straight up robberies on the street at night. Sometimes I can hear what sounds like gun shots in the distance at night. Don't do stupid things and it won't be a problem.
Don't let that deter you, though. :)

Grats :bow

Canton Ohio. Only a few miles from the football Hall of Fame.
