Since we were having threads about certain ones anyway, I thought might as well ask.
Mine would have to be SMW, followed pretty closely by SMB3.
-
Either Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island. Both of 'em are pretty much perfect, imo.
-
SMB3 or Yoshi's Island.
-
yoshi's island, i think
maybe super mario world 2 for the gameboy
-
Quackshot, Super Castlevania IV, James Pond II, Earthworm Jim
-
SMW
btw, fix your title
smh

Holy shit wtf's wrong with me. :-\
-
I forgive you
I just wanted to use SMW and smh in the same post
-
:-*
-
rocket knight adventures! dynamite headdy and yoshi's island are close behind
-
Which version, Drohne? Weren't there big difference between both SNES and Genesis versions?
-
the first one, which is only on genesis. 'sparkster' is on both consoles, and yeah, the two versions are completely different games -- i like the snes one somewhat better, but neither is as good as the first
-
Sonic CD followed by Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
-
can i say smash bros huahuah
SMW probably.
-
Sonic CD.
-
Probably Sonic 2 for some odd reason. I think Super Mario World is a better game, but Sonic 2 is about the only old-school 2D platformer I ever play nowadays. Can't really explain it, it just has that 'je ne sais quoi' (and it's not nostalgia, I was a Super Nintendo kid). :dur
If we are including 2.5D, Klonoa - Door to Phantomile all the way.
-
SMB3
-
Rayman was pretty fun and innovative. And even though I like SMB3 a lot my vote goes to the original game in the series.
-
Probably the original Super Mario Bros. It's tough to say though. Basically SMB1-3, SMW, and Mega Man 2 and 3 are my all-time favorites...so an easy way to cheat is to say Super Mario All-Stars+Super Mario World on SNES is my favorite. ;) Followed by Mega Man: The Wily Wars.
-
SM3 is the best platformer ever.
-
SMB3 was fun on a bun.
-
I have to say that I also have a deep liking for SMB3. I was a Super Nintendo kid until my dad bought me a Genesis in '94, which turned me into a total Sonic furry.
-
SMW or Knytt Stories, it's a tie.
-
Mega Man 2, followed closely by Super Mario Bros. 3.
-
mega man x1 to x4.
-
Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts
-
SMW & SM3 here as well. There are a lot of other 2d games with platforming that I like (some of the Castlevania games spring to mind), but I don't really think of them as platformers - they are more like side-scrolling action games.
-
Yoshi's Island, SMB3 and SMW are my favorites. In fact Yoshi's Island is the last truly outstanding thing that Nintendo did.
Super Mario Galaxy wasn't as JIZZ-INDUCING as GAF (and some people here) led us to believe?
-
Makes sense.
