"What do you say to a cup?"
"FECK OFF, CUP!"

I saw the boxset at the store today for $60. Seemed pretty reasonable. Show was pretty funny when I saw a few episodes on PBS.
-
Yeah the boxset is a great deal, 25 eps of quality BBC television for 60 bux! Steal!
-
I've been watching AbFab today. They need to get a new box set of that out. I only have the first 2 series.
-
I paid $180 for the Red Dwarf boxset. :o
-
I paid more I think I was robbed
-
Those Red Dwarf sets are NEVER cheap.

During the 1960s in Morocco, Patsy underwent a sex change and briefly lived as a man; but, as Eddy says "It fell off".

RIP Father Ted :(
i upset everyone by being upset when he died, because i wasn't upset when Princess Di died.
Father Ted >>>> Princess Di
Related question : how big is UK comedy in the US?
is it entirely niche or is it actually fairly popular?
I love my britcoms, but my tastes are pretty mainstream among britcommers: Coupling/Black Books/Red Dwarf/Black Adder and now FATHER TED WOOO

dcharlie, they are fairly niche. I think most of them are probably too risque for network TV, so they are stuck on either PBS (whose programming is different area to area) or on cable networks. So naturally, they don't get a whole lot of exposure.
Non-comedy BBC/British shows are like, basically nonexistent in the US. I'm not even sure how I originally got exposed to Touching Evil and Cracker. Actually, it was probably my brother, since he spent a bit of time in the UK.

It's funny how you change as you get older.
I tried watching this show about 10 years ago. Couldn't get into it for whatever reason.
A couple of weeks ago starteded watching from the beginning and just finished the last episode last night. And I thought it was great.
I miss that we've lost more seemingly broad but good comedies shows like this both in the UK and America.

It's true. Take it from me, a noted white personologist.

i'll upgrade that
white americans love british whatever on the fact that it's foreign enough to be exotic but white enough and bourgeoisie enough to not be challenging.

My uncle loves stuff like monty python. when i said i liked it too, he was legitimately shook, and he was all,"not...many black people like that sort of humor" like he found his long lost monty python viewing buddy and shit

Father Ted is genuinely a hilarious show.
I watched it for the first time when I was hunting for more stuff from Graham Linehan of I.T. Crowd fame since that series was so fucking good and I needed something to watch while waiting for season 2.
