I was looking at wikipedia's movie lists for 2007 and 2008. Outside of Spider-Man 3 there is nothing I am extremely hyped for. Well the CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer was awesome so there, two. That's it! Pirates 3? MEH. Shrek 3? MEH. Fantastic Four 2? MEH. The Transformers? Michael Bay will ruin it. Harry Potter 5? OOTP was the weakest of the modern books so blah.
2008=Awesome:
The Dark Knight (Greatest movie ever)
Iron Man
James Bond 22
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
James Cameron's Avatar
Indiana Jones 4 (You never know)
Jurassic Park IV
Power of the Dark Crystal(Genndy Tartakovsky!)
Star Trek XI
Martin Scorsese's The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt
Steven Spielberg's Lincoln
-
Jurassic Park IV
why??
-
Yea, that lineup sounds pretty pathetic. 2007 that is.
-
Jurassic Park IV
why??
I didn't like 3 but I felt like listing it anyway. :-*

I got pretty into Jurassic Park III, I liked how that guy was a secret raptor and shit. Best of the series, saw it at the cinemas twice, once in Ohakune of all places.

Oh yeah, definitely. Probably the only one in the series even worth watching.

That is like saying Jaws III is better than the first Jaws.
-
You mean Jaws 3-D.

Nah, Jaws III sucks.

Dark Knight is 2008, wtf?
2007 looks good to me
Spiderman 3: Is there any doubt that this movie will kick MAJOR ass?
Harry Potter OOTP: If done right it should be great; I'm not fully sold, but as a fanboy I pray that it works
TMNT: The trailer looked awesome, and I just have this feeling it's going to bring back good memories
Transformers: ...I pray it's good. That's all I'll say
But yeah, 2008 looks godly

How would Nolan get it out in 2007? You knew he just did The Prestige so Dark Knight couldn't even start filming till 2007. He isn't like Raimi who will do his films back to back. He does other stuff in between Batman films.
After Dark Knight before he does the third(and final) Batman film he will be doing "The Prisoner".
-
2008= Kung Pow 2
I wait patiently.

You must be high, 2007 is easily the best year for movies

I am excited about Hot Fuzz but that is out very early in 2007. The core movie seasons of summer and fall SUCK.

You're missing out on a bunch of gems - like Frank Miller's 300, Tarantino/Rodriguez's Grindhouse project, Hot Fuzz, Spidey 3, etc.

After seeing From Dusk Till Dawn I'm extremely interested in Grindhouse.
300 looks...ok. The lines/delivery displayed in the first trailers are extremely over the top and poor. "THIS...IS...SPARTA!" wtf?
-
The delivery looks exactly what it's supposed to be and it looks awesome. The movie is probably to badass for you to handle. You should just stick to Harry Potter.

Eh? It's J.J. Abrams Captain Kirk & Spock movie. J.J. Abrams is in charge of the entire franchise now and he has stated he does not like Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, or the TNG movies. ;)
-
o rry?
-
J.J. Abrams in charge of Trek is not a good thing. Stop raping Gene's corpse.
-
Superman Returns Again won't be in theaters until 2009. :(
-
When I went and saw The Departed, there were 4 or 5 previews that looked REALLY good ('300' being one of them). I haven't had that happen in quite a few years.
Scorsese is doing a TFR movie? Awesome!
-
I am pretty psyched for 300, but that's probably only because I'm a Frank Miller whore :-*
-
Star Trek sucks, and the director of Mission Impossible III isn't going to change that lolz
-
Hopefully, Abrams will write Trek like he writes Lost and Alias, and we won't know what's going on for like 10 movies, and right when we do think we know what's going, it gets all convoluted and crazy and rebooted.
That's what Trek needs.
-
o rry?
Yep. Expect it to look like the 60's show as well. The gold, blue, red shirts and all that based on the teaser poster. Lol the poster is spock and kirk merged or something. Abrams said he designed it himself.

Also, espect lots of cockteasing, convoluted plot devices.
-
Also, espect lots of cockteasing, convoluted plot devices.
It will start with Kirk kidnapped and being tortured then cut back to show how that situation took place like how he started MI:III and Alias. I am calling it right now. :-*
-
JAMES T. KIRK is ETHAN HUNT in STAR TREKKIN IMPOSSIBLE
"Bones, this mission just got a heck of a lot more impossibler!"
COMING 2008.
-
No connections to Lost? Failure.
-
Lost sucks.
-
Is Abrams even going to stay on Lost now? Paramount apparently is paying him a big chunk of change to head up the entire 'Trek franchise. If he gets Trek back on track I would think he would become pretty busy with just that.
Also Paramount turned down Halo 3 since they already have Trek penned for Summer 2008 it seems. They said "Why share a franchise with other parties when we own Star Trek and have a real director doing that film?." :o

I don't know what that means.

That's because Paramount is stupid. This Trek movie is going to boldly bomb like no Trek movie has bombed before. They have successfuly run the series into the ground. It's fucking dead, at least for another 10 years or so.
-
This is indeed FAR too soon. The recent nonsense is too fresh.
A nostalgic styled original movie with Kirk, Spock..etc with the uniforms and skirts and go-go boots indeed could work and make some nice change. But not a mere 3 years after Enterprise was canceled. It is the best idea to make it mainstream again but Paramount should have just waited longer
-
No, recycling old material and blindly hoping that nolstagia will put asses in seats is not a good thing. I will bet money that people will be offended that someone other than Shatner will be playing Kirk and someone other than Nimoy will playing Spock. If there's a fucking sci-fi sacred cow, those two are it.
-
First Contact ruled, so did Undiscovered Country

:lol Abrams in some interview recently said Kirk is like James Bond and should be the lead of the franchise and recast when actors get too old..etc
I think they invision making Captain Kirk Paramount's James Bond.
Trek won't be about the future of the human race and the like. More like THE LATEST ADVENTURES OF KIRK AND SPOCK.
-
Yeah, set your phasers for FAILURE. We're talking Star Wars Christmas Special bad.
-
I didn't think it could get any worse than Star Trek: SARS in the 24th Century
-
Next year will be great you crazy fools.

I dont even "get" the whole "Year X will suck!" argument anyways. Every single year in the history of movies there have been masterpieces, and pieces of shit alike. People who say "there was nothing good out last year!" obviously arent looking any further than summer blockbusters.
-
:shh Sin City, Batman Begins, etc. :shh
