Title: I mailed off a job application letter and afterwards noticed a spelling mistake
Post by: bagofeyes on February 24, 2008, 11:16:45 PM
Instead of "Dear Mr. So-and-so" I wrote "Dead Mr. So-and-so"

Maybe he'll think it's like, "Mr. So-and-so, if you do not hire me, you will be DEAD Mr. So-and-so."

Yeah, I'm gonna go along with the death threat idea just to save face. I will now send a follow-up letter threatening his wife and children.

I did basically the same thing once but forgot to put the contact information.

I did that once and didn't update the date, so it was from an application a few months earlier. Chances are it will only affect your application if theres a lot of other people applying and they need to weed out the undesirable applicants.

Honestly, the way a lot of people just skim over things like that, your error might not even be noticed. Just hope for that.

Think about how often people on EB and GAF notice spelling and grammar mistakes.  Now apply that to a professional career employment situation.  Just sayin'.

Good luck!
