That is neat. Really shows you that films used to have much stronger legs two decades ago.

Yeah, movies today ''blow their load'' much earlier and do not have as much staying power. But then again cable was not as widespread at the time.

I'm sure DVD sales have a lot to do with it too, which were helped by getting rid of the rental pricing scheme and shortening the Theatrical --> Home Video window.
