Of all the cheering voices hailing Ryan Newman’s last second pass of Tony Stewart to win the Daytona 500, one voice was the loudest, the Fence at the Daytona International Speedway. “I was nervous as hell,” said the Fence as he wiped sweat from his brow. “Everybody knows that Tony likes to climb the fence after a big victory and it’s no secret that Tony has gained a few pounds in the off season. I was not looking forward to having to hold all that weight.” After undergoing off season back surgery, the fence was under doctor’s orders to not lift heavy weight. “I should be back to 100% by the next race. I look forward to cheering Tony to victory and celebrating right along with him!”
