I have actually been using weights, too. I am an official peripheral nerd.
I only have nice things to say about the Sidewinder, really.
Gimme some time to play and game with this.

I really want to hear what you think about it. I came pretty close several times to getting it. Only two things kept me from getting it: it's wired and the grip seems kinda narrow.
But if I were getting a new mouse today, the G9 would still be my choice. Only the Razers come close for gaming and they just aren't as refined as Logitechs.
What are you going to do with the Sidewinder? Use it at work?

It comes with 2 grips, you know, and the one that is not on by default is slimmer. It is a tiny mouse. I like.
I'll save the Sidewinder for when I get my second PC up and going. As a server, lol.

I will never go back to a regular mouse after having used these for a while:

Which grip are you using right now? Can you take a pic?

I am using the one on the right. It is slightly slimmer and the sides are a bit more concave.
It has the same awesome sex mousewheel as the MX Revolution!!!!
And 3200dpi is awesome. 2000dpi on the Sidewinder wasn't adequate for 1920x1200 resolution.

You must have some super, duper hand-eye coordination. My G7 goes up to 2000 DPI but I hardly ever use it at that speed 'cause it's too fast.
That's kinda unexpected that a tall dude like you will go with the narrower grip. Let me know how it feels for non-gaming tasks like web surfing. Hand fatigue was my main concern with the odd grip.
What does the mousewheel do? I don't believe that my G7 has it.

It's the MX Revolution mousewheel that can alternate between being clicky and being smooth.
I'll use it more for photo editing than gaming probably. Adjustable dpi (from 200 to 3200) is a neat feature for that, too.
