Title: we got our male cat castrated and now his voice is higher

so we had both our cats fixed so they wouldn't be able to make babies, and everything went well. but one thing was weird. when we got our male cat (yoshi) home, his voice had changed. he was meowing and i couldn't distinguish him from minu until i actually saw him. his meow is higher and prissier than hers now.

did anyone else ever experience this with a cat/dog? i know a long time ago the catholics used to do this to young boys to keep their singing voices high. i didn't know it worked with animals too!

How old is he?

My cat's voice didn't change but he was nearly 2 when he was neutered.  He was already 'past puberty' so to speak.

Tauntaun squeaks a lot and has a super hi meow, it's so cute.  He was neutered young as well, we got him when he was like 4 months old.    :)

Our youngest cat is constantly in heat and meows loud as FUCK. She'll stop if you pick her up and rock her but once she's back on the ground she'll run away, crouch, and start meowing omg
