OMG it runs at 1680x1050
WTF full settings on a SLI rig (7800GTX x 2) am chug
character models am ugly
story is generic D&D so far but it's still lightyears better than Xenosaga 3. Chris Avellone am king of fantasy dialogue.
OMG BG2-style party interaction
feels like BG2 redux with ludicrous system requirements
-
These sound like mixed impressions then
-
they're just impressions. i'll have a definitive opinion in a couple hours. kinda irked that my mega-rig chugs at 1680x1050, and the character models are amateurish, but I'm liking the new interface and the plot of the main campaign. we'll see!

I should add that this game is also better than PSU.

I should add that this game is also better than PSU.
And I am more virile than Peter Abelard was. Not saying much.
He was a great philosopher and a eunuch.
-
i'm just sayin' PSU has become the new low bar for gaming
-
my GOD this game chops up BAD when spells are cast. it jumped from 30-ish fps to 5. yuck!
-
The screens dont look that impressive tho lol how can that be :(
I beat the second boss in Children of Mana, he got OWNED lol
-
where do i set the keyboard controls, and how do i turn off aa!
-
these performance issues are sad, because the game really DOES feel like BG2 in 3D. man, they need a performance patch, stat.
-
I'm echoing Drinky's complaints. I too have an uber-rig, and the game performs so unevenly. It goes from nice and smooth at 1680x1050, maxed graphics, to choppy bitchcakes for just about no reason at all. Sometimes, the amount of action on screen isn't enough to warrant slowdown.
Also, it's day 1, and the game already had an 80 meg patch.
The game seems good, but the performance issues are befuddling. They need to be patched fast because it's going to be annoying to play as it is.
-
I'll get it for JesusDay. Hopefully, everything will be smooved out by then.
Thanks for the impressions. Post more, so I can touch my tooter and live vicariously through you.
-
I'd play more, but I need some FF12 time :P
Performance aside, it seems like a massive improvement over the original. Say, didn't the original perform poorly when it launched?
-
yup, the original chugged and crashed, too. according to qt3, perf issues aside, nwn2 isn't very buggy. this has to be a first for obsidian!
-
NWN on my Radeon 8500 was am cry
-
LOL PIRATES.
-
Pirates? The game came out today.
-
eh I read it was leaked. My bad >_<
-
i am oddly compelled to keep playing this game despite the utter lack of graphics optimization :(
