so i thought "hey i'm gonna get ff8 on my psp since grandia sucks", rite. "how hard can it be when everyone says playing ps1 games on psp is easy". well, turns out it isn't really easy. :(
i extracted the stupid image, applied some stupid patch and tried psx2psp, but then the stupid psp tells me the file is corrupt. then i try autopopsloader4 and the game crashes on the intro fmv. i tried applying the patch with the other program, not applying it with the first and pretty much every possible combination i could think of and i got nothing.
i guess i could start a game on an emulator and load the save data on the psp, but it will probably crash in the next fancy cutscene. i blame the internet for tricking me into this. stupid internet.
i'm gonna have to play xenogears - assuming i can get that working - if this doesn't work out. help me, eb.

I did it no problem and I'm not super expert.

probably a problem with the psp emulator.
it crashed on my fat psp 3.5 or something while performing certain attacks in battles.

hmph
I didn't get that far, maybe mine's fucked too. My FF7 worked fine through the first reactor though so I'd imagine my FF8 is fine too.

try googling "psp ps1 compatibility" for more sites like this, really useful to see if anyone are having trouble and if it can be fixed.

i've tried the methods described in that site, but they just didn't work. i'm not using 3.90, but since they recommend popsloader 3.71 and that's my fw, i thought i wouldn't have to update. i guess i'll try xenogears now and mess with this later.
