Don't have too much faith, apparently the draft of the script being used scraps the original ending for some happy-go-lucky Hollywood bullshit.

EDIT: Although I will admit, those costumes are fucking ace.

I dunno, there's enuff EDGY COOL endings out there to make EDGY COOL the new Hollywood ending

Yeah but IIRC David Hayter is penning the script, and he's a dumb bitch.

They are not using Hayter's script.

Yup, I failed to see what was so unconventional about the ending of No Country for Old Men.  It was exactly the type of ending that one would expect from an artsy film.

Eh, I heard they're using a script that keeps the movie in the '80s with Nixon as president and is extremely faithful to the graphic novel.

That said, I'm disappointed Nite Owl isn't a tubby fuck like in the comics.

For entirely different reasons, however!

I just think it better represents the fact that he's a has-been and draws better parallels to the Adam West Batman, which the character is partly supposed to mock.

I bet he still is. Before the training montage.

I hope they all get superpowers.   It would make the move a lot more exciting.

What's the name of this grainy/shiny style of photography?

Whatever it is, tell it that I hate it.

I will be disappointed if a single second of this film is regular speed  You're better than that, Zack Snyder.

Where is Manhattan?  And Nite Owl's tubb?  And why does Ozymandia kinda suck?  And where is my meta-textual pirate comic?  Zack Snyder sucks, Alan Moore rules, except all the whiny bitching.

Comedian looks awesome.

I'd imagine they're saving Manhattan until they figure out how to handle his nudity.
Ozymandias is kinda poncey looking.
Black Freighter comic still features heavily in the movie.
Alan Moore knows ths score!

yes, in fact, Snyder is filming most of the Black Freighter sequences for the extended DVD cut

in the theatrical cut, there'll be references to it, but probably not as much Cutaways

they are being suuuuper faithful. I am cautiously optimistic, which I NEVER thought I'd be about a Watchmen movie.

honestly, what I'd like a Watchmen to be is a deconstruction of the cinematic superhero movie, as much as the comic is a deconstruction of the written superhero comic. I think the superhero genre is crowded enough that it's ready for that sort of deconstruction.

I also want them to keep the ending--by which I mean, the entire last chapter. (SCREW YOU HAYTER)

But...well, it could certainly be a lot worse. Did you see the earlier production stills of the Gunga Diner and the Treasure Island comic shop?

What do you want? Let's start with: What Morrison have you read? ;)

okay, go read Animal Man 1-26. that was easy.

Invisibles is his sprawling magnum opus, and We3 is his tightest, most emotional piece, but Animal Man is his overall best work.

let me know some other touchstones you want more like.

btw, I have bought more copies of We3 for friends than I can fairly state. It's like, $11 after discount on amazon.com. $11 to CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

How does The Filth stack up to The Invisibles? That's the only one of Morrison's I've read, but I want to check out The Invisibles.

Meh, it will probably look pretty but that's about all I'm gonna like about it I bet.  Zack Snyder = epic fail.  I still maintain that the best way to bring this to life would have been a 12 episode HBO series, with Zack Snyder not involved whatsoever.
