So I got XM Radio built into my car.
I had never listened or cared about it before.
I plan on buying a new 160 GB Ipod for my car this weekend so I have ben listening to my XM radio last few days instead of plugging in my 8 GB iphone for music.
So this is techno people listen to? Damn it sucks. weak beats - uninpsiring patterns and the cheesiest movie samples ever....earlier when i drove home there was some shitstain song on with a sample from 2010 in it "my god its full of stars" over and over and over - cheese ball city. and then the DJ is taking about this music like anyone gives a fukk about noname techno artists who all sound the same.
id rather die by having a elephant cock shoved down my throat than listen to that bullshit - all of the dance/techno channels are goofy and boring.
Now I gotta clense my ears with some hardcore and gabba
-
should have gotten sirius
-
I didnt have a choice - its standard equipment
Ill just ipod it anyway
I got sick of using my iphone as the cars ipod because id always get out of the car and forget and leave it plugged into the center console.
-
Yeah I have sirius

as horrible as this is, it's better than sirius's selection
but still, sirius is pretty crap
on xm there's a channel called "the move" which my friend, DJ Simon, has a show on called Redux. it's really the only stuff I'd suggest

:punch :punch :punch XM has the best mixshows on it - we have Transitions (John Digweed), Trance Around The World (Above and Beyond), Tiesto's Club Life (a personal favorite of mine), ASOT, Oslo Nights, and all these other random-ass shows. I'm also pretty fond of the Addiction show on BPM, lots of cool electro-house. As a dance fan, I'm really happy with XM's selection, it beats the SHIT out of terrestrial radio (NYC SUCKS when it comes to radio) and Sirius, wasn't nuts about Sirius - repetitive playlist and the only mixshows are from Jokenfold and Van Dyk. Apart from a lack of D&B, dubstep/grime, and hardcore, XM has most of the dance gamut covered, including my preferred genres of trance, prog, and commercial house.
The XM stations:
80 - The Move - plays soulful house, deep house, minimal... used to have a good D&B show on at lunchtime, and some of their mix shows are good
81 - BPM - the real commercial, cheesy, electro house station... I like this one a lot, since I usually spin commercial house
82 - The System - trance, progressive, breaks... favorite station on XM
83 - Chrome - the disco/freestyle station
84 - Chill - the downtempo station
Eric - I think I've heard your friend's show before, actually. Do you know what time it's on?
-
err, i don't actually
don't have xm, so i just get my mixes from him
-
Both XM and Sirrius are still better than fucking Terrestial Radio
I have to go to the weird 88.7 spectrum just to listen to some good stuff
-
XM and Sirius are still in merger talks. Their merger still hasn't be approved by the Anti-Trust Division of the Justice Department.
-
Isn't XM and Sirius becoming one whole company? I like XM more because its free and OPIE AND ANTHONY + RON AND FEZ are on it.
XM is free?
-
ok - nighttime XM radio is good (plus I may be intoxicated)
But man some of the shit i have heard when the sun is shining is embarrassing.
I like "The system" and a few of the dance channels around it.
The classical music is decent - but the MIXES ARE SO BAD - they cross styles/eras in such disgusting ways :(
I finally programmed six channels - but I forget what they are.
