You sound like my cousin, jumping on the locale bandwagon. She doesn't know anything about basketball, has lived in Houston all her life, and NOW is buying TMac jerseys SMH

of course i have. it's not that hard to understand. have you ever watched basketball before, maurice?

The Rockets will end up being disappointing in the end just like they have been for the past 10 + years

I've played basketball competitively and watched it all my life. SMH

Rockets will probably go out in the first round though, you're right about that. I should give your AIM to my cousin so you can pretend to be fans together

i think the lack of yao will be a big hit on them in the end

here's a ban bet: the rockets will make it to at least the western conference. Ban me for a week if they don't.

himu, I'll ban bet you that UK will make as many rounds or more in its tournament as the Rockets in theirs.

Many moons ago (aka before the NBA season started) I said that if the Celtics finished in the top three in the east I'd take a month long ban. EPIC FAIL  :'(

I've kept quiet in the NBA thread so maybe he forgot

SMH at Himu's ignorance of proper basketball jargon.

He shows exactly why we can't trust a black man that can't dunk.

They won't make it out of the first round. I will take a ban bet for any length of time.

Those who don't follow college basketball don't realize how ballsy a bet that is up there.

Mcgrady is the biggest problem.  He's too soft to go against someone like Kobe.  When Mcgrady first started becoming a superstar, he used to have great games against Kobe. But after Kobe had beaten him a few times, with some favorable calls at the end, Mcgrady lost his confidence against Kobe.  It's the same thing in every series that he's lost.  Once things started going bad, Mcgrady lost his confidence and start settling for fadeaway 3 pointers.

I fear for GAF's safety after Houston is eliminated in the first round

There isn't a single team in the West that is a lock to go to the second round. I can see Lakers-age slitting their collective wrists.

Lakers Age are well versed with disappointment. Granted so are Houston fans, but they seem to think this is the magic year. I predict their tears will be much more bitter. Plus if the playoffs started today Houston would be playing Golden State, who has a knack for putting Texas in their place

Lakers vs Dallas in the first round possibly...damn. Lakers will probably go out but who knows

Lakers are hampered by too many injuries.  Bynum and Gasol are most critical to the Lakers' success but neither will be anywhere close to 100% in the playoffs.  As poorly as Dallas and San Antonio have played, they still have good chances if they can finish strongly.  Phoenix would have a great chance too if Marion hadn't been such a bitch.

You mean one. They MIGHT make it past Marquette, but no way are they making it to the Sweet Sixteen.

I'd almost make a ban bet on that.

Exactly the reason i don't have faith they'll get far. I'm worried it'll be just like last year against the Jazz. with Yao out now (again) and McGrady having to take up the lead I don't know.

Thankfully this season, the roster is more polished, so I guess they could get to at least round 2.

TMac is the second biggest bitch in the NBA, behind only Dirk. Every year they both wind up shook, shooting fade away 3s over small guards. SMH

The interesting thing is: no one is really talking about the Suns. I don't think the Lakers are healthy enough to win; Dallas isn't manly enough to win; Houston is irrelevant; San Antonio seems to be stumbling at the worse possible moment; Utah lol; NO lol.

bitter utah tears

It's not as much of an analysis as random thoughts on the west.

The obvious point being: there is no clear cut front runner in the west, unlike last year

Dallas wasn't a front runner IN MY EYES last year. San Antonio and Phoenix were better teams despite their records. SMH
