how it looks? how it's packaged? what i really wanna know is if i can pick it up at a gameshop instead of dropping $8 on shipping. (i'll find out all this stuff today after work i guess...)

Any GameStop should have it.
-
I am getting this for collectors sake
-
yep, the gameshops have it. strange that i knew nothing about it. (kind of like silent hill origins coming to ps2.)
i asked the guy behind the counter whether or not they were the original games or the mgs2 substance and mgs3 subsistence versions. he didn't know. because of that i didn't buy it. i'm gonna check around the internet and see if i can find the description. the konami site called them the "director's cut" of the mgs2 and 3 games, and i have NO clue what that means.
-
I heard that the MGS Subsistence in it doesn't come with the 2nd disc. Is this true?
-
waste of money

yeah

yep it looks like you guys are right. i love evilbore so much everyday because i don't have to sift through shit to get an answer.
i have some bunk ass games i'd like to trade in and then i'll get this for free. i have metal gear solid subsistence but the box is busted and there is no booklet. that's what i get for waiting until 2007 to get it. i wanted a nice, new version since i like to have good condition games for my collection. i'm not that big of a gamer and i don't have very many games, but the ones i do are in mint condition. if this version of subsistence is better then i'll just go with that since the 2nd disc is nothing but a monkey chase game and the original metal gears which i don't care much about. i'll hold off and not be too hasty about getting rid of it until i play through the collection's mgs3.
i will NOT be getting rid of my original metal gear solid because it has sentimental value to it. same with my mgs intergral from japan (which i got for just a few bucks when i was out there).

Because unlike other forums we don't fill countless threads with image macro after image macro hoping someone cool will quote us and :lol at it. We also don't make countless photoshops with Samuel L. Jacksons head for a shitty ass developer who happens to be a "cool" moderator.
No we just try to one up each other with witty one liners about Blu Ray and year of the ps3.

I'm just going to say it's because we have about 1/100 the amount of people posting.
bluemax: Don't you see how we focused our PS3 trolling in another outlet? :P

I got if from scamstop yesterday (lol scamstop instead of gamestop, I am a genius)
The only tacky thing is that MGS3 still says disc 1 on the title screen. I don't care about the 2nd disc but it's funny that they couldn't be stuffed to change that.
-
Is this shit worth buying? From reading the replies in this thread, it looks like a half-assed 'collectors edition/compilation box'.
-
if you already have playable version of your old games then no, this isn't worth having. however, if you only have the regular versions of the games or unplayable, broken discs that you wish were working again then this is the collection you'd want to get.
the only things missing from this set are the VR missions from the MGS, and disc 2 of MGS3 which had the original nintendo metal gear games and a shitty monkey chase game.
-
It has the VR missions. Just not the ones in intergral or MGS: VR missions, as it was called domestically here.
-
So not gonna buy this.
-
They need to remake MG1 and MG2 for PSP, and throw Ghost Babel in there too.

yea i probably should have been clearer.
-
Two reasons I'm buying it:
1. My MGS copy is scratched to hell (bought it used circa 2002)
2. I don't own MGS2 Substance, so I will when I purchase this game
I just plan on trading Sons of Liberty and the copy of MGS3 that comes with the set and getting some trade in credit on my MGS4 reserve.
